HARRY v THE SPECIAL ONE - England Job ??? (1 Viewer)

Looks like Jose Mourhino might throw his hat in the ring to compete with our Harry for the England job which might ruffle a few feathers and/or may be considered an excellent alternative by many.

But first just for the record, below is the respective managerial records for both candidates:

MARHINO

Porto (2002-2004)
* Primeira Liga (2): 02-03, 03-04
* Taca de Portugal (1): 02-03
* Supertaca Candido de Oliveira (1): 03
* UEFA Champions League (1): 03-04
* UEFA Cup (1): 02-03

Chelsea (2004-2007)
* Premier League (2): 04-05, 05-06
* FA Cup (1): 06-07
* Football League Cup (2): 04-05, 06-07
* FA Community Shield (1): 05

Internazionale (2008-2010)
* Serie A (2): 08-90, 09-10
* Coppa Italia (1): 09-10
* Supercoppa Italia (1): 08
* UEFA Champions League (1): 09-10

Real Madrid (2010-Present)
* Copa del Ray (1): 10-11

That's 18 major trophies for Jose !!!

REDKNAPP

Bournmouth
* FL Division 3: 86-87
* FL Trophy:83-84

West Ham Utd
* UEFA Intertoto Cup: 99

Portsmouth
* FL Division 1: 02-03
* FA Cup: 07-08

Tottenham Hotspur
*FL Cup runners up: 09

There you have it a choice of head or heart maybe, or a sense of loyalty to Harry for his personality, being English, his charm and motivational prowess BUT look at Jose's record absolutely awesome in quality, depth and achieved at a variety of clubs.

Until JM came along I was all HR but JM's track record speaks for itself - I may be a tad disloyal here to some but I have to go for Jose at the moment for his record, versatility, age advantage (49) v HR (65) and his experience of working very successfully in this Country.

So what are your thoughts folks ???

I await the arrows and spears heading my way - OUCH

The next manager has to be English. Redknap is the London press's man so let them have him. Anyone other than "our 'Arry" will be crucified by the Fleet Street hacks.

As a neutral I would personally like to see Jose Mourinho as England Manager. He would have the experience and skills over Redknapp any day. I like Harry but agree with OP on this one. I don't think an International manager need necessarily be from that country. Eire have done really well under Trapattoni for example. I love 'im! :claping hands:

If that's the case then we should play Van Persie and Balotelli up front. Having a foreign manager makes even more of a mockery of international football than it already is imo.

OK Rob, so how many City players are from Cov? How many City managers have been from Cov, How many players or managers from ANY team are from that town/City? I agree with the sentiment about international players being from that country, but a manager is a different thing. Should be the best the bloke for the job IMO!

I agree but thats about money - you can't select which country you play for (well not completely) and trust me if I had my way all players would pick a club within 20 miles of their birth place and that would be their club for life.

Until kids are shown how to play properly at an early age the national team will never be successful

It's becoming more prevalent these days. Scotland & Wales are becoming like England B & C teams. How good could Northern Ireland be if players didn't constantly defect to their southern rivals?

Am I been a bit harsh or does Harry overspend where ever he goes and lives a trail of destruction wherever he goes.

Did he over spend at Portsmouth, Southampton, West Ham and is he now overspending at Spurs. Did they all go into financial meltdown after he left.
Did he overspend realise the shit was going to hit the fan then got out before having the manage with no resource.

I think I will be in the minority but I dont particually like him, I think he is overated.

I dont think Spurs can afford what he is spending.

I think Martin Oneil gets a lot out of players as they are but Harry spends a fortune and is always chopping and changing look at the Pienaar signing. How can pay him 50,000 a week, not use him then get rid!

I would pick Jose. I like Harry but I feel England need the best, and Jose is the best. Bar fergie he is the best manager of the last 10 years. Harry is very much average until recently. He got lucky with Bale, it wasn't a stroke of genius. He's signed poor players IMO in spurs attempt at a title challenge, like of Saha pienaar Ryan Nelson do not whet the appetite. The English game is slowly dying both internationally and domestically and we need someone at the top to grab this country by the scruff of it's neck and take us back to the top. Spain reigns supreme at the moment and there seems no sign of them relenting in worldwide football dominance. Englands representation in this seasons CL is woeful and out recent record of international tournaments is also very poor. We need the best, Jose is the best

The FA have stated that Jose is NOT being considered for the England job! Sometimes this means the total opposite, but i think the "Old Farts" at the FA would s**t themselves if JM was there haha

In my view Harry will get the Job, London Media (mafia!) based decision, Jose would be crucified by them from the get-go were he to be appointed. Jose should get it, based on data, but the FA hierarchy wouldn't allow. I think Harry will "work alongside" Stu P for the Euro's with a permanent appointment ahead of next years season KO. I like Harry, he is the stand-out English candidate, not sure he is "International" class though.:thinking about:
