Have SISU split the fan base? (1 Viewer)

With attendances spiralling towards record lows is this due to the 'SISU effect' effect i.e. non investment in playing staff, lack of clear direction and strategy, or people just fed up 10 years of dross in this league?

SISU is the obvious answer but I am not too sure. I think the recent sharp drop is more down to them but let's be honest many similar clubs have had poor owners over the years but with similar catchment areas enjoyed consistently higher support. Forest (Two city club), Norwich, Southampton and Leicester are obvious comparitors.

I think the 35 years in the top flight is a key factor. We were always struggling and fans like me have never experienced a top six, promotion chasing season.

ha ha TWO CLUB CITY I stand corrected - and they may be swapping divisions as well.

I'm sure they have,we must be some of the most apethetic supporters in the land barr about 5% who were actively showing their opposition to the puppetmasters, and sing their hearts out to try and generate an atmosphere ,you know it is embarassing really, we did'nt even do one chorus of sky blue song having dominated the entire first half and cody scoring his first goal, rectified by the corner ,but only the corner, that was so symbolic of us as fans,we'll have the team we deserve,in the league we deserve.

For me it's the dross year on year..... fed up with inconsistent performances, inability to string together more than 2/3 consecutive runs. For the life of me I can't remember the last time we won 4 or 5 games in a row.

Totally agree - Championship main revenue is through the turnstiles. Other clubs would still have 20,000 attending whoever owned the club. We will never have a realistic chance of getting back up the league without fans. It's always been the same. I remember the early 80's when we had the all-seater fiasco and a capacity of less than 15,000 we could not even fill that!

Early 98, 6 on the trot, including wins at Liverpool and Villa in the FA Cup. Seems like a lifetime ago. :(

No it's not!!

I still can't believe the support we do get...NO SUCCESS SINCE 1987...NOTHING, NOWT, ZQUILCH, All we have had is relegation and no sniff of even a top 6 finish for the last 11 years.

I think with everything considered the support is better than can be expected. And you know, if we had a good run in the cup or in the league, don't be surprised if we do start hitting a regular 20k.....Stoke use to average 12k for years, Wigan less than 10k, I have even been to Stamford Bridge when there were less than 15k there:thinking about:

Success on the pitch and some real forward thinking, planning and positivity could and would see gates rise...FACT...;)

We need to move on from SISU, they will kill this club, and I am not against trying to balance the books but WE the fans need some light, some hope and these guys give us non....buying the stadium:whistle: Can't even afford a Le Fondre or a loan player, so I'm not holding my breath!! PUSB

Its not SISU it's a lot of things - Moving from Highfield Road, poor results, constant changes in personell and ownership, and lack of success.

People want to associate with success, and staying in the top league as a 'family' club was a tremendous success, we dropped at a bad time, and I can't see us ever getiing back ofr a stay of that length. :thinking about:

have sisu split the fanbase?

that is their aim,
'divide and conquer',
not rocket science,
i'm sure TSB fans realise this,
a concerted effort to rid OUR club of this 'lot' is required,
what amazes me is that according to the 'hedge fund' ethic they have singularly failed to 'tart up' the club to 'sell on' ?
SISU - STAND UP & BE COUNTED,

year after year after year of sh1te on the pitch, fully in the knowledge that there will be no success in the medium term future.

since we have been in this league,

1)we have NEVER scored enough goals to even think about challanging at the top of the table

2) We have NEVER had a decent midfield pairing who can boss a game

3) wingers ?, who are they ?

4) we havent kept a manager for more than 10 minutes to give them a chance.

As said before, how we get more than 3,000 is simply amazing.

Happy friday everyone, only one day till we are back in the bottom 3

;)

The decision to let Marlon King run his contract down probably hurt gates more than anything. I remember thinking here we go no investment and another rubbish season coming up. Most fans probably read Sisu's signals and voted with their feet. I know I nearly did. A year of watching struggle again was not something I fancied and to be honest as a season ticket holder I hardly bother going anymore because we have no experienced quality players.

Did we let king run down his contract or did he hold out for a better contract? Did they not want him as he cost too much or caused trouble in the dressing room?

We will never know the truth

If you own a cinema showing black and white silent films and are charging the same price as everyone else who are showing colour 3d with dolby surround sound you have a major problem. Poor product leads to a lack of sales, people will not pay to watch inconsistant second rate performances, when was the last time we put a proper unbeaton winning run together or played attractive attacking football for 90 minutes. For the first time in a while we have a manager that wants to play intelligent attacking football in a recognised system, but we have owners that do not want to back him. The fault lies squarly on the shoulders of SISU, the only way the Ricoh will be full in the near future is if we get buy one get 20 free ticket offers for the rest of the season. Players of the calibre of Westwood and King left because of SISU and their bumbling efforts to try and run a club, they have know one with the skills needed to negotiate with agents and do not know the mechanics of how football is run. They are so called business men who network in financial circles not footballing ones, in truth their on the outside looking in. The hard core 9000 will always attend matches, but we are in recession and to get punters to dip in their pockets it has to be worth their while! PUT UP OR PISS OFF YOUR KILLING MY CLUB.

I think it's acombination of things beginning with a lack of any kind of success since being relegated. (remember 1st season we were 1 of the favourites to go up) another dissapointment ,followed by steady decline.

Now if that wasn't bad enough we have the worst shower of shite owning our club.

Full of lies and deciet, without any footballing strategy or idea. There only current plans are designed to maximize the sale value of the club, ie 4 year contracts for players in their late 20's. That cannot be a footballing strategy to have players already past their best to be given 4 year contracts.

And now more bullshit regarding buying the stadium, if it wasn't so pitiful it would be hillarious,

So what next from the mouthpeice of sisu, the contemptable orange one, who must be laughing up his sleeve after he releases yet another statement.

No top six finish in any division for about 40 years now i think.

The only team in any professional division in England to achieve this possibly.

So, something to be proud of!
