A HELICOPTER has crashed in Vauxhall, south London, after hitting a crane this morning, according to reports.
London Fire Brigade said it had received numerous calls about the incident and firefighters were en route to the scene.
A pall of smoke was visible near the River Thames.
Witness Robert Oxley said: "What is clear is that the helicopter has hit a crane".
It is believed that the crane was used for a new building develolpment.

Ouch, must have been too foggy to see it or something.

Looking at this picture it is lucky they didnt smash into the building:

Can you just imagine peoples initial thoughts - hit's a crane that's attached to a tall building, it's rush hour, near MI6... Got to be a terrorist attack. Luckiest thing I've heard is the crane operator. Hadn't been late for work for something like 10-15 years... Late today!

It's really frightening, isn't it? It's like something out of Thunderbirds! Glad I don't live in London.

In other words he just hasn't been caught for being late.
