Hi, an Oxford United fan here in peace.
Our club is desperately trying to secure a new stadium site, or we’ll be homeless from 2026.
With that in mind, if anyone on here would be happy to fill in a short online questionnaire being run by Oxfordshire County Council, our fans would be massively grateful.
It only takes about five minutes or so to fill in the short online form with positive answers at [www.smartsurvey.co.uk] by 23 July 2023.
The benefits to you as away fans will be:
A sustainable stadium right next door to a major railway station in Oxford Parkway (a short train ride from Oxford City Centre) and opposite a large Park&Ride site, which would make it one of the easiest, greenest grounds to get to in the UK.
Proper drinking, food and entertainment options at the ground itself, compared to embarrassing facilities currently on offer at our current ground or nearby.
A modern, well-designed ground which will help to support a proper atmosphere, rather than the soulless, three-side ground we have now.
A few sentences on any of the above for the survey’s final comment box would be really helpful in showing our County Council that the new ground will be sustainable, increase spending in Oxfordshire, and provide excellent facilities for home AND away fans.
We all appreciate the value of a good away day, whether we’re potentially playing you in a league or cup game from 2026 onwards. Taking a few minutes to support a fellow club before it becomes homeless in just a few years would be massively appreciated. Thank you.”

No thanks! Can you imagine us down the road to hell and sharing with Swinedon!Being homeless isn't so bad. You get to see nice places such as Northampton, and inner city Birmingham.
Cheers matesx!done - good luck
I loved it too, my lad always rolls his eyes when I talk about it! But he did buy me a print of it to hang in my shed. He also thinks the Kassam is a shithole!Loved your ramshackle old ground London Road.
Good luck for a new gaff.
The land is part of Cherwell Council, they are the planning authority. Unfortunately there is no majority at CDC, which could be a problem.. But thank you so much for your supportIsn’t your new Chief Executive at the council Martin Reeve?
if so - keep this guy away - filled in however, good luck!
My grandson played in an under 14 final at the County Ground a few weeks ago....Jeez what a shit hole.No thanks! Can you imagine us down the road to hell and sharing with Swinedon!
I’m sure original poster can educate me if I’m wrong but I believe Firoz Kassam (Ox old owner) still owns the ground and is refusing to negotiate a new lease with the clubAll done, best of luck with it.
Although what’s happening with the Kassam Stadium?
Cheers Cstring, thank you so much! Kassam refused to extend the licence.. at ine point the tea weren't allowed in until 12.00 on match days. althougth the away team was allowed in at 8.30! Anyway its a shithole, I go to more away games than home tbh...All done, best of luck with it.

Cheers Alex, thanks so much! You have to remember that day was only our 3rd trip to wembley! The turnout from both sets of fans was brilliant add those sort of days are important to fire the excitement of young fans. A mate of mine brought his lad down from Liverpool. That "lad" now runs a 6 a side team in Liverpool who play in yellow!I’m sure original poster can educate me if I’m wrong but I believe Firoz Kassam (Ox old owner) still owns the ground and is refusing to negotiate a new lease with the club
For what it’s worth I absolutely loathe that ground and if they can get a new stadium they’d be much better off
Always found Oxford a decent bunch and were very gracious in defeat after the Checkatrade game so good luck to them
Cheers Earlsdon, really appreciated! Can always support a fellow football club in their battles with a shitty landlord/owner/council.
Left a few digs in there for Martin Reeves, even though I'm not sure it is completely relevant.
Bet of luck @dsm2408
But how's it got to that point? Does he want to do something with the land?Cheers Cstring, thank you so much! Yes a total re-development. Already got planning in for a Science Block on the back of the complex. But how's it got to that point? Does he want to do something with the land?
Cunts, shouldn't be allowed to do that.Yes a total re-development. Already got planning in for a Science Block on the back of the complex.
Agreed I had a laugh with a couple after the game - told them they’d won the boat race on the same day.I’m sure original poster can educate me if I’m wrong but I believe Firoz Kassam (Ox old owner) still owns the ground and is refusing to negotiate a new lease with the club

Cheers bud, feedback is noted!Always lots of free parking around the complex, just a balls-ache to get out afterwards. One very important point - DON'T change the pie supplier, best I've had.
Shmmee, you made my day with your post (and choke on my coffee!) Thank you so much for the support!I met a girl on Tinder from Oxford who lives near the ground, worst handjob I’ve ever experienced. On that basis I totally support a move. Completed.

"I knew the time I pretended to be a girl and went on tinder to pull a man from Coventry and gave him a disinterested hand job would pay off, was playing the long game there."
