I'm back, thought I'd come back around Christmas and wish you all seasons greetings and all the best.

I wanted to check up on some of our former and current players.

I just wondered what you think of Gary Madine? He seems to have scored a couple and is getting his confidence back a little. We have only scored 16 in 21 games as you may have seen, thankfully our defence is one of the best though. Therefore, loaning Gaz out split opinion big time. Some say he's a waster and a trouble causer and not good enough at our level whilst others think he's could be the answer to our prayers given a fair crack at it.
My personal opinion is that I'd be happy to sell him. To a club like yourselves where he'd be a good asset and can bag 20 goals in that league. I just can't see him making the step up.

Reda is ending up just like I thought, the best goalscoring defender in England. As you will have witnessed :claping hands:. I do still miss his craziness. Viva Benin!

Anyway, in regards to the rest of the season, what are your hopes and expectations from here. I thought you'd be doing a better job given your squad if I am honest. I look at some of our other ex players like Tudgay and Pugh. Any chance of a play off push do you think?

Madine is good, his physicality isn't being utilised as we fail to give him decent service, Reda fell out with SP over the colour of his pi$$, I'm not joking, there was no need for the headbutt against Scuni, definitely a player who will be remembered. How did Andy Pearce get on after you bought him in 1993/94 - many Cov fans would have driven him to Sheff wed personally.

Madine said today that he'd be willing to leave us. He's out of contract this summer so there is a good chance you could get him for nowt. I always felt he was too lightweight for a big lad in the Championship. The amount of times he used to fall over against a player 3-4 inches smaller than him was ridiculous. But... he was always good in League One. Sometimes unplayable, so if he managed to get back to that form then you've got a player.

Reda is just a nutter, so that doesn't surprise me.

In regards to Andy Pearce, unfortunately that is before my time. I am a fan that barely remembers our Premier League days. One of the new guard! However, I'll ask my dad about him.

Out of interest how is Keiren Westwood doing? I presume pretty well if your defence is one of the best?
It was a shame to see him waste away at Sunderland, I always thought that he looked like a premiership goalie.

He is worth £10M to us! Seriously the best keeper I've seen play for us. But, as usual, we'll get him nicked off us and for peanuts too. I know Liverpool were sniffing around.

If you're anything like us you will let him run down his contract and leave for free.

Keriran has a track record of sitting out his contract & signing for the next club on a free, we did it to Carslise & it was done to us by the Mackems and you signed him after they released him .. so I think you can forget a transfer fee, it is unlikely.

Yep, most of our fans would consider ourselves one of the worst teams for selling players. The opposite end of the scale to the deals that Peterborough seem to pull off for their players. He has 18 months left with us I believe. I guess I'd be happy if he stayed for the next 18 months then left on a free at the end of 2 years service... but we are in need of some investment in the team to push us on. Any decent sum of money gained then invested into the team would be ease the blow. It's us though, so no guarentees the smallish fee we'd receive would ever be seen again.

By all means if you rate Pugh and Tudgay so highly you can have them back in a swap deal for Chris Maguire?

I'm pretty sure we bought Westwood from Carlisle

Well, I wouldn't necessarily rate them highly now. At the time when they played for us they were decent.

I don't think I'd take you up on that offer though. :)
