Speaking to a Norwich fan after the game. They are £60 million in debt. He described it as being serviceable debt. 250000 fans. Season ticket costs hom £479/season.


£88 million will surely make a difference even if they go down next season.

I liked the Norwich fans singing "Its just a pre season friendly" when we went 1 up.

It never fails to amaze how clubs have these debts. I keep thinking football has to wake up sooner or later and get its house in order, now i'm thinking this is the way it will always be.

I don't think that Norwich are £60m in debt. More like £18m-ish so maybe it was £16m, not £60m. Either way it's a lot!

how much debt do you think we will have if sisu ever get ownership of the ricoh then mortgage it to the hilt? As long as you pay that bill each month then the debt is serviceable

Unlike us they can almost guarnatee a certain amount of ticket sales which certainly helps financial planning regardless of what league you are in. They brought wisely and used the loan system superbly and this is what is needed here.

The difference between us and Norwich is that they have people on there board who want to go places ie The Premiership, there 60 million debt has now been wiped out thanks to the vision of their board. Plus you have to say what fantastic support they have they have sold over 21,000 season tickets over the last 5 years seasons it takes us two years just to match one season of Norwich season ticket sales

The debt is entirely to the board, primarily Delia, as she services all external creditors they are free to carry on. Local papers have maintained the figure is around £24M. With 25k season tickets at roughly £300 and an immediate £42M windfall from promotion, they're in a much healthier position than you'd think.
