How Injured is Ben Turner ? (1 Viewer)

Our most saleable asset. A fully fit Ben Turner would have been gone by now, we keep being told he is a bit away from fitness yet, might be true, but equally might be to put would be buyers off and our board from getting him out and the reddies in. A good tactic by the "friendly" side of our club. I am not saying that eventually we won't cash in on Ben but if it can be delayed until SISU have gone perhaps the manager can use a decent amount of any money received. Just a thought.

i said 2 weeks ago he was out for 6 weeks, i believe that changed to around 4 weeks of which 2 weeks of that are left. I think hes back running but know where near match fitness! What ever happens with Ben will happen but AT will need to wheel and deal if he wants new faces in the squad that may mean IF an offer for Ben is made the offer will be accepted.

How injured? Injured enough not to play for us, but not injured enough to play for someone else should we sell him!

I don't get the Ben Turner thing, two seasons ago Coleman was sladed ever week for playing Turner over Ward in defence, very few had a good word to say about the guy.

He's plays 15ish games at the start of last season to rave reviews before getting injuryed and now he's a 3 million pound player.

I don't get it ?:thinking about:

Its the same as scott dann, he was on the bench for blues last week...there waiting for arsenal to buy him then they will come in for ben, neither club wants them to get injured as they want the money...can birmingham really afford ben turner though with all there problems???

why would any club buy a player that has not played a competitive match or even friendly during 2011 ? They might not be the brightest sparks at Brum but do you honestly think they are that thick ? No one will buy him until such time as he can prove (a) his fitness (b) the level of performance. Right now Turner has no value because no one knows if he will come back and be able to keep going.

Given how short we are for players do you really think that he would not have played at least some part in a match or two by now ? If he does come back in 4 weeks time then the transfer window will be shut. Hopefully he will get fit because he is by far the most commanding of any of our centre backs .

oldskyblue58, thanks for a bit of common sense. Agree with all you say. If he returns to last season's early form it would be good news. Given time and a bit of AT's 'nurturing' he'll be a real asset.

I think it was DOWIE who used him the most ,he was raw but the ingredients were there, just like like Cristie ,Thomas,Biggy, and Cameron last season, always thought he had it and proved it till injuered last season, his problem at the time was he would let a mistake affect him into the next five games but he was young like these other lads .so we need to afford them patience ,one of the failings at this club compared to others in our division has been not to allow two to three players to break through each season, instead of the manager at the time demanding to sign 8 or 9 players.I'm not sure Turner will go to blues currently as they are reluctant to spend and are heavily linked to Anthony Gardener on a free.
