To be fair I said few weeks ago I've decided to take long term approach and trust in SP vision for the club.

Could all end in tears of course but I need to believe!

Not sure you can use todays performance to prove SP knows what he's doing. He ended up with a side and formation through injuries and illness. He was forced to move Pennington in his correct position and play Tudguy who he'd bombed out.

First half was great but I'd question the whole not having a plan for penalty takers, that seems crazy to me.

They seemed to work us out and started the second half much stronger, not sure he really had the tactical skills to counter that but fortunately we kept them at bay and grabbed a second. Happy days!

In all honesty, this season is already gone in terms of promotion. It doesn't look like we are going to go down either, might as well keep him till the end of the season. If it isn't a significant improvement on first half then replace him in the summer and allow a manager to build.

Basically I think he should have gone earlier but we've missed our opportunity now, won't get a new man in time to make changes in the January window + season is over now even with a change so no point right now. Assuming he's still crap in May get rid of him then.

I went today, we won 2-0 which is great, but I still think as we stand we are one of the favourites to finish in the bottom 4. Now if Pressley gets to bring in 3 or 4, add them to what we had yesterday plus Johnson, Madine and Martin then maybe things can improve. I don't rate Steve Pressley as a manager and would replace him asap if it was up to me but they won't so as I just said who he brings in will be paramount and his performance in that department isn't very inspiring.

frustration is that with the league being so open it feels it needs only a slight improvement to challenge for the play-offs. there's a real opportunity in this window to kick on.
the side 3rd from bottom are only 10 pts off the top 6.

Pressley is no miracle worker, he's not the best manager we've ever had and I am still not fully convinced by him . But he's about as good as we can expect right now. The list of currently available managers is not very inspiring at all.

It's been statistically proven that changing managers has very very little effect on a clubs mid to long term improvement.

You'd only be calling for SP's replacements head 12 months from now so for once let's give a manager a bit of time rather than hiring and firing every 12 months.

I think all teams will havepositive runs and negative runs , lets see if we can build spme form of consistency , remember the dvd that was released because of our 8 match unbeaten run at the start of the season , well expect volume 2 after the last 7 games

With the caveat that we have now played at least 1 more game than everyone else.....and 2 more games than 6 other teams and 3 more games than Scunthorpe. It remind me of the tub under robins when we got quite close but everyone had games in hand.

4 points off top, have you seen the table with every team around us with a game in hand?

It would take a miracle for us to be 4 points off play offs when those games have been played.

And? I didn't state 4 points off play offs with every team having played the same amount of games, did I? I simply pointed out that presently we are closer, points-wise, to the play offs than we are to the relegation zone. Prove me wrong.

Maybe so. It would also be a miracle to win your last three games to avoid relegation.... I would rather have the points on the board than games in hand. Yes, of course, those teams mights win those games. And, of course, they may not.

Good win yesterday, things look brighter. We should enjoy it while we can.

I still want Pressley out regardless of how well we played yesterday. These stupid threads need to stop popping up everytime we win a game. We've been shit for ages. Pick up the odd win and then the play off threads start. We've got no chance of the play offs. We won't even finish top half

Astute, Yes SP needs more time for sure. Your logic is skewered though. Anyone who refuses to see that a team on a decent run of improved results is not willing to debate fairly but would rather just be a critic is engulfed by the clubs off field situation.

We were lucky yesterday. But it was still a good result. We played well. And we had players on the pitch that were not SP's first choice. We had players that he normally plays out of position where they should be because of injuries. They made changes at half time that gave them the upper hand. SP did nothing about it.

I'd argue that point with you Paxman ,I personally have massive Issues with those running the Club but am Inclined to see Pressley continue

while over ten games there has been Improvement .

We haven't been amazing though and he's not the messiah but there Is no advantage changing him currently ,he was struggling 6 weeks

back though and It could have happened .

They were well on top in the second half. And SP did nothing about it. What do you think would have happened if one of their efforts that hit the post would have gone in and pulled them level? And yes I did call it a good win.

How about not having a dedicated penalty taker? Do you agree with SP on this? We certainly have a very poor conversion rate on them.

They were well on top for 15 mins. That was to be expected. And I'm pretty sure Nouble dropped back a bit to help Haynes out as they were rinsing us down the left. It was pretty even again after that.
