Just wondering a few games in how many people feel like me.

I had a season ticket last year and went to plenty of away games, however I have become so disillusioned with the situation that I don't want to follow Cov home or away as I feel it would play with emotions like a Yo Yo.

I couldn't care about the result at Sixfields, as it is not my club, my club means playing in Coventry and that has been taken away. As much as I miss the banter and social side of away days it would feel false to suddenly go away and start manically supporting the club whilst being disenfranchised the following week "at home".

This isn't a criticism of others, just interested as to how many other city fans feel like this. TBH though I feel like this about the world cup as well, although that has more to do with it being awarded to Qatar...

Always care about the results, regardless, away games only for me, I was similar to you, a season ticket holder for years and done loads of away game!!! I don't understand your thinking when you say you couldn't care about the results!!

You are where I expect to be at Xmas.
I go to the away games but it makes my stomach turn on the thought of going to Sixfields and seeing that pompous twat Fisher looking down on us like a King and his minions.

Started in 1967, the first year in the old Division one.
Still got my heavy wooden rattle with all the players names on it. Can't take it in ground but itching to get on hill to give it a whirl.
Missed out in the 80s because I was skint with kids but 20 years straight since then as a season ticket holder.

I'm a complete stayaway. Had a ST for 25 years plus. Dad had one for over 50. Son had one since he was born. No home or away for me until we're back in Cov.

Its not only out of principle I don't and won't go to Sixfields it is the thought of smug Fisher laughing to himself as fans flock like sheep to support their club, irrespective that its been moved 35 miles away. If there were full houses it may encourage him to think that as Ruson & Diamonds is only 10 miles further away, buy that ground on the cheap and move us permanently there, FL would probably turn another blind eye. I'v said before even if the crowds go to 4,000 this is financially unsustainable, we could not compete in the championship on crowds like that, there is no new stadium to be built and SISU won't get the Ricoh for the price they are prepared to pay. I'm going to Vale but I'm beginning to think the whole thing is fuitile

On that point us sick fields upto championship standard? What is the criteria? If cov did get promoted this season what would happen?

If we get promoted he would be left with literally no alternative but to negotiate a return to the Ricoh its as simple as that

SISU have stated that they are prepared to fund the imbalance in revenues until the new stadium is built, they broke their promise regarding investing in new players back in 2009 when they sold Dann & Fox, the tone of the latest supporters e-mail looks slightly desperate, would they really turn down £500k for Callum.

Did Shrewsbury away and it was a good day on the piss. Too be honest the actual match is sometimes a distraction but I enjoyed the first half, although second half dragged a bit.

Will do another few aways this season but will not be going anywhere near Sixfields for a variety of reasons.

I always care about the results though, and always will, as long as there is a Coventry City.

I was a season ticket holder for years and years but stopped about four years ago when i started to hate sisu. The only matches i sometimes go to now are away local matches

That must be like coming off an addiction ! I haven't been to a game yet but am looking closely at Vale Park for a day out ! Fair play to you for your stance !

been to all the away games 50/50 for port vale , sadly only look for sixfields results if doing nothing else have saved a packet on Saturdays ,as this weekend will once again prove , not just sisu but all club owners miss the point that going to watch football as oppose to watching on tv is a habit, and when you break that habit its very hard to get it back

I had a season ticket for 46 years, since we were first promoted to Div.1. Never missed a home game in all that time, even after moving away from Coventry. I have not renewed this season and I have no intention of going to Northampton for any games, even to stand on the hill. It would be a 120-mile round trip.

I have resigned myself to the fact that CCFC effectively has ceased to exist and that I no longer have a club to watch. I am Coventry born and bred so my home city no longer has a professional club. It's the only way I can handle the situation. I shall not be protesting or anything like that. I went to the first of Fisher's forums and realised that night that he had destroyed what we knew as our club.

Would I return if we started playing in Coventry again? I can't answer that yet as none of us know how, when or even if that will happen. If we were to start again at the Ricoh in January, then maybe. Three years down the line I think it is doubtful.

I've been away twice this season, and once on the Hill. I just want my club home. I miss them, I miss the pubs near the Ricoh, I miss sitting with some great people, but most of all I miss the fans.

I consider myself as big City a fan as anyone. I have absolutely no intention of going to Northampton.
I am planning to watch Port Vale game mainly to get some SISU OUT chants off my chest. Also scope for large following to massively beat the SISU Northampton crowds.

Have been to Crawley and Shrewsbury thus far, no 'home' games. Your sentiments sum up the way I feel at present, considering knocking the away games on the head.

Season ticket last year. Stayed away completely this year. Been to see the sphinx play though and will be going there again tomorrow

Was going to go to a few away games but ive lost interest to be honest. Ive England at Wembley next month to look forward to. I don't care what happens in Northampton, win lose or draw im not bothered. Ironically ive just bought the missus a new car as a belated anniversary present......from Northampton.

Season ticket holder for most of last 40 years (only lapsed for one season when 2 kids were first born).
I will not go to Northampton, unless someone can convince me the club had no alternative. It would be 140 miles round trip from here in Dudley, but I would do it.
I went to Shrewsbury and will do away at Port Vale, Walsall, Wolves, Notts Co, Peterborough, Swindon and maybe a couple more. That will be about one game per month, enough to scratch the itch but NOPM to the club.
It hurts not to go but I "pretend" it is an away match and that makes it bearable.
Missing great performances then is no different from missing a far flung away win.

I think this thread says it all about the essence of being a Cov fan (or a fan of any club). Feel like I did on the day of the first Sixfields game regarding my family's history with the club (started back in 1948 when my late father moved from Dublin). I do have perspective on life, but its still hard to take,

assuming that 10 pts had not been deducted, then we would be in the play off places,
further assuming that the games were being played at the Ricoh,
then the answer to the OP thread would be close to 15,000,
having spoken with dozens of fans who do not post on this board, they confirm the above

Won't go until back in Cov.
This goes for rest of my family and some old school friends.
Not even bothered by results.
I hardly look.

I used to go to about 5 games per season. Stopped going when we signed Marlon King and then went to just 2 last season. Will not attend at home this season. If we have a game at the weekend in the South or a mid-week game in London I may go...

First game back in '94, went to majority of home games ever since (season ticket between 2005-2011) used to go to a couple of away matches a season. I would like to think I will go to one this season but I am really losing the passion.

This may well be the first season I don't see a game in 20 years.

Similar starting out time as me mate (aged 54 now, but still a big kid at heart!). About to sort out Port Vale tickets this week-end - first game of the season

Don't do it mate - sneak in an away game or two, or you'll regret it :(
