How many of us going to Germany?

Their flag should be a white cross on a white background.

That's like the White Star on the White England Shirt 🤍 ⭐, Why Why Why.

No other Country does that, makes you wonder if they are embarrassed to show it. 🤔

Aged 10 years in this match. Nearly booked a flight to the next best Spanish tourist destination.

You’re coming home you’re coming home you’re coming, England fans are coming home . Utter fucking shite !!
Correct. Taking off from Dusseldorf soon. Heading back out on Thursday though.

Aye. I was glued to that game. Would have happily taken 30 minutes of extra time but for that brilliant late save by the Turkey keeper.

I'd have gladly been happy to watch extra time in that , pulsating end to end match , great goalkeeping and the ref was fantastic, let the game flow. Game of the tournament so far.

Definitely game of the R16. Turkey play some really entertaining stuff but I reckon they’ll get exposed by the Netherlands.

As for Austria, good team but people got a bit too carried away they won their group. Well coached and well drilled but too open for a team to win the tournament as demonstrated last night.

Thing is these teams are willing to take a risk, something Southgate doesn't seem to want his teams to do.

That’s the point. The best teams in tournaments don’t tend to be risk takers. Usually quite conservative and prioritise defence over attack.

In this tournament not as much, Spain probably the best side here are very open and attack minded ..Two fantastic wide players and Rodri, who is consistently brilliant .

It’s academic at this point but I don’t think they beat Germany or France. They’ve looked good against the opposition so far, credit to them.

In most tournaments, France’s Deschamps, Portugal’s Santos (2016) and Argentina’s Scaloni (2022) were accused of drab ‘cautious’ football. Even the great Spanish teams of 2008-2012 lined up with Xabi Alonso (and Marcos Senna), Busquets and Xavi in their midfields. Hence they were able to keep clean sheets often in tournaments.

In the last 4 games, we’ve mostly come across teams that play with a low block and put 10 players behind the ball. Whilst being unable to break them down is concerning, we’re probably not coming across this against Switzerland, Turkey/Netherlands and whomever we’d meet in the final should we get there.

It’s over to Southgate and the team to get us playing now.
