For two 6’3 lads of any racial background or none, they’re pretty poor in the air. Godden regularly wins more aerial duels.

I find that quite incredible given that Godden tends to jump about half an hour before the ball gets there cos he doesn't want to get involved but wants to make it look like he is.

I agree with the quoted poster other than the last bit, as he does very much often jump far too early

If he does then it's not because he's a coward though, but more likely he's trying to get the edge on a defender by literally getting the jump on him.

Absolutely not a coward, throws himself around a lot, just mistimes a lot of jumps

Just checked and I’m well off. Godden wins 25% if aerial duels, Simms 33% and Wright 45%

I don't know, but it does come across to me that he's just not up for an aerial challenge.

It's just that he jumps SO early he's either got the poorest sense of timing ever or it's deliberate. You don't get the edge on anyone when you've already landed again by the time the ball actually gets there.
