If you go on some of the addiction web sites you’d get an idea of the level of activity
Rumours of 350000 to 750000 where do you expect them to be housed?
it’s an epedemic
Most people convicted the biggest loss is their careers family and friends rather than prison
I can understand that though. What I struggle with is the bloke distributing, who has previous, only getting a suspended too. He clearly hasn't learned anything from his past!Yep epedemic
And why if you admit and haven’t distributed you’re likely to get non custodial
Doesn’t condone it of course
350,000 to 750,000 is just astonishing numbers. If you go on some of the addiction web sites you’d get an idea of the level of activity

The 2022 link is offences I think or charges350,000 to 750,000 is just astonishing numbers.
What does that entail though? It can't be numbers on the SOR. Is it just people that have have self reported as having an interest and not taken action on it extrapolated out to the population?
Starmer should step in and find him a cell, but he hasn’t got the balls, how the hell has he avoided a jail term? There’s plenty of spaces now!!A suspended sentence. Those prisons are too full I guess
Not excusing his behaviour but he’s lost his career, reputation, probably friends and family. Not sure what imprisoning someone adds to the punishment.A suspended sentence. Those prisons are too full I guess

absolutely take the point of deterrent and victim having been damaged and risk of reoffending but would imagine he’s on the sex offenders register for a period of time
He's fucked. Not excusing his behaviour but he’s lost his career, reputation, probably friends and family. Not sure what imprisoning someone adds to the punishment.

The chance of recidivism is close to zero.
No need to house him on the public dollar.
There will be an interview with a tabloid in the next year or so though.
Have a read he voluntarily stopped receiving any more pictures before the police caught up with himKeeps the streets safe from a nonce, Pete. Thats what they're there for, keep the scum locked away.
Hence why he is on the sex offender register for 7 years and has received a suspended prison sentenceHe was actually classified by psychologists & pre-sentence experts as ‘medium risk’, with the comment that if he was sent/ saw similar images then he could well reoffend.
With this in mind it is categorically not true to say the chance of recidivism is close to zero.
The councillors wife deleted her post and apologised before the police contacted her, yet most want her hung! I did tell myself I wouldn't get involved on this when I saw the sentence as I knew everyone would be frothing relating it to the riots. They're not at all linked but equally can understand the outrage. I think in this climate it was a bit of an own goal to have not insisted on at least a small custodial.Have a read he voluntarily stopped receiving any more pictures before the police caught up with him
Not excusing his behaviour just laying out the evidence

So did Huw. My point was to Pete, whose caveat was that he'd stopped. She plead guilty. Did you want the court to disagree?

Where did I say it makes it okSo that makes it ok then? He's a sick pervert that needs locking away.
Good question actually. With other addictions you would say stop all together. Suppressing all urges is possibly more damaging and comes with greater risk.Weird question. How does one get rehabilitated out of illegal porn? Do they just show him legal stuff?
It’s not a political decision though it’s a judiciary and I have huge problems with someone being imprisoned for using wordsThe councillors wife deleted her post and apologised before the police contacted her, yet most want her hung! Have a look at lucy faithful foundation and you can seeWeird question. How does one get rehabilitated out of illegal porn? Do they just show him legal stuff?

I’d imagine it’s more like a compulsion, so effectively they can’t be.Weird question. How does one get rehabilitated out of illegal porn? Do they just show him legal stuff?
It’s very like that for some if not many that offend. It’s an addiction that drags someone deeper and deeper down through porn to extreme porn to criminality and unless there is a way out ends in arrest charge and lives destroyedIt sounds like one of those dogdy “asking for a mate…” things. So I wondered if I should even ask.
But couldn’t think of what would go on. It’s not something like drugs, alcohol, eating disorders etc. I’m flummoxed.
I’d imagine it’s more like a compulsion, so effectively they can’t be.

He’s fucked up and lost everything and most would say he deserved too
I think the evidence suggests that they don’t lose the attraction but can absolutely be able to take steps to recognise that what they want to do is wrong and not do itIn some cases it can. Usually it’s when someone totally loses the plot- mental illness, manic depression etc, and they end up doing things that they formerly had zero interest in to fill some kind of void. In those cases rehabilitation is possible, it’s the ones who always had that type of ‘interest’ that can effectively never be rehabilitated.
ok like much on here attempting nuance means you condone what he’s done okYou seems to be almost weirdly defending him, it's ok everyone, he stopped before he was caught and he hasn't lost everything, he hasn't lost his freedom.

Do you know if he’s on a sexual harm prevention order and do you know what being on the sex offenders register entails? He has freedom and a massive salary paid by the BBC after his guilty plea
