In crap displays has often been one who can still hold his head high on his own performance. Remains looking in very good shape, positioning has generally improved and deserves some credit I think.

Fair dos

Thanks Dom's dad...........don't have any real issues with him, other than I wish his forward passing was a bit more accurate. I could aim that at one or two others too though - think Kane's passing/crossing has got a bit shoddy lately too!

For me the most improved player from last season and probably the most consistent. Agree he seems quicker and definitely stronger.

Playing in his natural position on the right of the three rather than left is the biggest reason I think. That's why JCS is so important and can't understand why he was dropped last night really.

Can only assume fatigue

Thought he played really well last night. Fadz and Rose were both poor so Hyam was holding the defence together. JCS was good too.

Has improved dramatically following his on field trauma against Yeovil.

Worked on his speed and his defensive positioning.

Just needs to put the hours in on his passing game-weak link I’m afraid and gives the ball away unnecessarily either by going long or misplacing pass.

Handy back up and this may be an unpopular opinion but not good enough if we want to get into top echelons of the Championship.

Not many of our players are good enough in that respect I’d say. There’s a difference though between what he offers at CB and what Shipley and Allen offer in their respective positions.

Still harping back to a bad game nearly four years ago. Incredible.

No he's not handy back up. He's improved massively and easily gets into this team.

I've always liked him but his progression from League Two development player to Championship starter is very impressive

Without doubt one of the first names on the team sheet now
Played the most minutes last season. Has at the moment played the most minutes this season. Tends to support he is the first name on the team sheet.

Thought he was too far behind the line for the second goal which is something he's been guilty of in the past

Which is fair, but late stages of a game being chased, it happens. Used to be a lot more culpable for playing people onside but for the most part he’s cut it out.

Except at home to WBA where Dabo was deliberately started instead

There is no ambition for that to happen. He’ll be starting for a while yet

Yeovil was one of those freak games that happen now and again if memory serves me correct Yeovil hag about eight shots 6 went in and I’m sure one was disallowed and the other hit a post.
I remember years ago playing Everton when they were crap at HR and they won 5-0 with five shots.

His prime duty as a defender to defend is generally excellent..mr consistant.

McFadzen looked like an old age pensioner and played like one yeaterday. Rose was just plain crap in everything he tried to do and was rightly hooked off.

Hyam as is standard was culpable for the second goal by playing the guy onside

Exactly yet people still use it as evidence against Hyam. And how old was he at the time?

Don't get the Hyam love in to be honest. Behind the line last night for their second goal. Backed off for Blackpool's goal last week, backed off the week before against QPR when Andre Gray scored, Hyam is not quick and opponents do try and get in one on one against him through the inside left channel.

Rose passing is terrible.

Yup, Fadz steps out and Hyam is yards behind him and Maatsen. Don't disagree he's improved, but he does seem to have this lack of concentration in his locker.

That screenshot is misleading. The ball has already been released and Hyam looks at fault because he is behind McFadzean, but in real time Fadz made a bizarre decision to charge forward to play the guy offside from being in line with Hyam that I don't see how Hyam could have anticipated. Would be interested to see a similar screenshot of the actual point of release of the ball as I'm not convinced that regardless of Hyam, Fadz wasn't still playing their guy onside himself.

The thing that really grates with me about Hyam when he has a reasonably simple pass forward is that Kane pushes forward expecting a pass Hyam passes to an opponent the opponent passes the ball forward and theres 2 players out of position playing catch up...no wonder we're tired at times.

Not a love in, just credit where it’s due. Continued to improve ever since he arrived
