anyone watch this on BBC1? Truly heartbreaking and shows how broken the process really is!

A must watch!

Agreed - saw it quite a while ago, after someone suggested it (my wife works for Citizens Advice). Highly recommended, and bloody infuriating!!
Available on iPlayer, by the way

Totally a mix between being in tears of sadness and fury! Very well put together

went to see it at the pictures, really enjoyed it but as far as the audience went it was preaching to the converted as the place was full of middle aged lefties!!

When it finished the wife said they should have put a few more laughs in it! Crazy cow!

It’s excellent and one of Loach’s best. It’s up there with Kes, The Wind that Shakes the Barley and Sweet Sixteen.

I had the honour of meeting him around 15 years ago.

This was recommended by a friend for me, so I watched the trailer and felt it would wind me up/get me too angry/ make me sad!

Looks like an emotional rollercoaster so swerved it, unfortunately.

It wasn’t an easy watch that’s for sure. Interesting to see the responses on twitter, some trying to dismiss it as made up despite the fact it was based on real situations. In fact Loach has said they had to pull back on some content as, despite being factually accurate, it would have made it hard for people to believe.

I just watched this heartbreaking and frustrating in equal measure .
I’m not very political but what annoys me is in this films case there is a man who wants to get back and work in the system

Yet I’ve seen people who aren’t afraid to play the system and get all manner of payouts and benefits

There was a scene near the beginning where Daniel was talking to a guy in the job centre and tried to explain that he didn’t have clue about the internet
The guy said if he could log on he could find a number that could help him , just give him the number

It was the scene in the food bank which got me! Poor girl
