... providing someone comes out and says so, as opposed to the usual smoke and mirrors of which we're now associated.
I'm long past the expectation that we have a huge budget to spend on "franchise" players or even that we can spend modestly, but we have been told that there will be clear communication from the board to the fans.
I want someone brave enough to come out and say something along the lines of, "This is our lot. We trust and back our lads because we want to ensure that Coventry City is still in existence in the long term. They will make mistakes, but they are our lads, please stick with us and give your full support"
If they do that, then I will happily stand up in a half empty Ricoh and bellow from the rooftops and give them unconditional support, but it must be heartfelt and it must be without all the associated bullsh*t that we are currently being drip-fed.
It must also be that they are not sold at the first opportunity to the first bidder who come cherry picking so that we are allowed to enjoy the benefit and not just selling the polished player. I'm not expecting that they won't want to progress or move onto bigger things but lets hold them for a few years and not have the repeat of the Scott Dann or Conor Thomas situations again.
