I thought Terry Butcher was one of the worst managers we ever had.

Many will wonder why I have felt the need to bring this up now.....

Come to think about it so do I !!!!

Peter Reid for me. It wasn't his record either. It was the fact that Black went to make way for him.

That really was a shocker to be fair.

With butcher it was that aged old bullshit football philosophy

If you were a top player especially a leader you will be a great manager.

Ah the deflector shields are on. I don't think anyone argue with you that he was very poor. However if butcher had been in charge when a very unpopular owner was here opinions may differ - he could have done a cheery wave - and logical thought and blame deflection could easily have become distorted.

Way before my time :( The only thing I really remember about him is having blood on his head.

Well I guess butcher should be ashamed of his paltry 33% win ratio - Peter Reid seemed to manage 37%.

There's one guy on the list with 18% - I can't quite make his name out.

Butcher was brought in for the*playing side as much as the management but only played a handful of games .
The club ended up in court over a few issues regarding non payment of money for the playing side of his contract.
CCFC in court , who'd ever believe it.

Butcher, Reid, Thorn........I have nightmares about all three. Christ they even made Phil Neal look like Alex Ferguson

Gordon Strachan was woeful!
Had millions to spend & spent 5 years at the club, time & money.... Yet a relegation to show for it!
Granted he only had the likes of Keane & Hadji for a season or so....but still.....worse than Thorn.....who had much less time & no funds!
As for Presso.......best Manager in all my time supporting them!
Soz Dad!

Coleman tops the lot for me. Unbelievably negative and wasted the best squad we've had since relegation.

Strachan worse than thorn - lol.

33% - when thorn did have money he signed Cody McDonald and Adam Barton.

No way was Thorn worse than Strachan!

In that case why since leaving Coventry did strachan become manager at Middlesbrough, Southampton Celtic and Scotland and thorn has never secured any employment since leaving us? Why is that?

butcher was shocking up there with Bryan Robson Ruud Gullit etc etc people who were great footballers so there is an assumption they will be a good manager.

strachan is the manager I dislike the most , Reid really pissed me off also, kicking black out and then swanning about on tv for either world cup or euros' (can't remember which) whilst most managers were buying/selling players

Strachan's contacts!
How many of the current team were spotted by AT?
Thorn doesn't have the same charisma as wee Ginge!

You clearly know nothing about the history of this move do you? John Poynton was a tosser. He shafted John Sillett who was the best thing that happened to the club since jimmy hill. In his infinate wisdom he wanted the big name manager so sacked Sillett. He lined up graham sourness as player manager. It went pear shaped so he got butcher. Butcher was 32 with no managerial experience and inherited an ageing squad and little funds. It was an impossible task.

I suspect the public in Inverness disagree with regarding his management credentials.

You're right he was rubbish. On par with Phil Neal and Gary McAllister. All dreadful.

Jesse Carver and some foreign guy who was so bad I didn't store his name in the memory bank.

Carver was the last manager before robins to be headhunted by another club - what are you on about?

Would it not have been quicker to name the decent managers we've had ( in my time watching ) 1 or 2 seasons under milne , George and John , a few months with Robins and the current manager the rest have been SHIT !
Oh , i forgot A Heath and Frankie Bunn .

Interesting you should mention Jimmy Hill...

Seeing as win percentages are the end all of all factors when considering a manager as oppose to circumstances
