If they were used like the Sheffield utd game I wouldn't be as arsed about it but about 20 people doing it just to distract the players pisses me off.Still not conclusive either way in my view but I think we need to drop the whistle idea. It was great and actually quite innovative for the Sheff Utd game but it isn't getting us anywhere or doing favours with the opposition.
As for protests against Wasps, I find myself wondering why we would do this?

Will watch it again. After the Bolton player miscues his shot a sharp whistle is blown. You can hear it on the video so not sure how some didn't hear it at the time.
Our player stops and let's the ball run past him. He only slips when he realises it wasn't the refs whistle and tries to recover.
vented in the wrong direction though surely???Because they're the latest pantomime villain and accepting you can't actually affect any change as a fan is hard.
exactly it was trying to disrupt the field of play rather than the attention that it had in the united game (and the headaches that followed)If they were used like the Sheffield utd game I wouldn't be as arsed about it but about 20 people doing it just to distract the players pisses me off.
It was a clear as a whistleThe whistle was clear enough to hear - in fact a couple of hundred people cheered before realising it was some dickhead fan.
Wasn't he the one who did a protest inside Sixfields?

Tbf I'm pretty sure here the city fans are ironic cheering because the Bolton player fucked up his shot, that's what I thought at the time anyway. The whistle was clear enough to hear - in fact a couple of hundred people cheered before realising it was some dickhead fan.
For the record I never set inside SF when Coventry City played their home homes at the place.
I stood on the hill, twice.
Any insult I can take apart from
1: being called a brummie
2: insinuating I stepped foot in Sixfields.
To all the people on here who have argued the fact that there was no whistle, the whistle hearing people are all crazy sisu lovers, I get that you've argued for 24 hours we were wrong and can't go back on that now (even if you have just seen the evidence) but I think that just concluded any arguments! Close thread Nick. Our work here is done

People will argue till they are blue in the face, first it was there was no whistle and people telling us we are hearing magic whistles that no one else did. Now conclusive proof there was a sharp whistle right when people said it was.To all the people on here who have argued the fact that there was no whistle, the whistle hearing people are all crazy sisu lovers, I get that you've argued for 24 hours we were wrong and can't go back on that now (even if you have just seen the evidence) but I think that just concluded any arguments! Politely, you've either misunderstood what people were saying, or you are choosing to misrepresent. This was not about whether there was a whistle: it was about whether a whistle was contributory towards the goal. The extended highlights suggest it could well have been.

Be nice if Reilly came out and actually said it did affect him. If he did that it might actually get through to the numbskulls not to do it again.
Yeah and all you are talking about are whistles. I for one am over the moon we just got a point of one of the best teams in the league! I'm not looking for excuses as to why we didn't get 3 because the reason for that is we are at the bottom of the league and we are not very good!
Never gonna happen though is it?! A player who's played one game for the City having a pop at the fans for losing us points etc. There's hardly anyone who said there was NO whistle. Quite a few people saying they didn't hear it though.

I just watched the extended highlights on Sky Blues Player. I don't think it could be any clearer that they stopped because of the whistle - half the fucking crowd gave a cheer too because they also thought it was the ref.
These numbskulls would probably just do it more and make himself a target of abuse for fans.Be nice if Reilly came out and actually said it did affect him. If he did that it might actually get through to the numbskulls not to do it again.

Besides even if he does, he'll only be dubbed a sisu lover for turning on the fans for protesting!

As I said, the club need to issue a warning that anyone blows a whistle will be barred and get the stewards to watch out for it.

The ball is there for him, no reason to leave it.
