Is it safe to say Coventry City will never hold the record attendance for the Ricoh?

The fact that any match would have segregation of around 1000 would mean we could only really get 31k (like the Chelsea game).

Disappointing really! But at the same time pride of having an olympic quarter final with the home nation involved!

I have just been told that GB WOMEN look like meeting USA in the semis. USA are the no.1 ranked team so GB will lose if the match goes to form. Guess where the Bronze Medal Match is people? Expect two sell outs in 6 days.

So the people of Coventry will happily fill the Ricoh to watch some girls football but can't be arsed to get behind their club when they are needed most. Pathetic people, pathetic.

Britain's Wenches are going to be better than Coventry men!

Rather looking forward to it, not only am I getting to attend an Olympic event, it's in Coventry and it's going to be packed. Much better than watching New Zealand play in front of about 5 thousand.

Some of you are complete idiots with your misogynistic views.

The ladies GB football team would give us a thrashing that would make the Wrexham game look like a fair contest.

Love how everyone gave Spain shit for not playing any strikers at the Euros, but when GB women do it there's no talk of it at all!

They've been really good so far. Play proper football as well.

I just don t find it entertaining. Skillfull but doesn t do it for me. Not sure that makes me a misogynist?

And i must take issue. City would hammer the GB womens team

GB women only play other women. They would be stuffed by CCFC.

But they are pretty good players with no little skill.

Dont worry we will beat the attendance record when everyone is clamoring for seats for the Leyton Orient home match where we need to win to seal the League 1 championship

Our record attendance is 51,00+ against Wolves, unless they bring in safe standing (which is looking more and more likely to be fair) we'd never beat that at the ricoh anyway.

what a fool! you really think it will be just people from coventry up there for an olympic qf match! Genius!!

The point's valid though I think. There will be a number of Coventrians going up to the match that would never dream of going to a Cov game. The club has to attract these people to come along more often. Hopefully there will be an exciting match and good experience of the stadium to entice them back to watch a league one game...

Just once at least! :D

£3.60 for a pint but you are not allowed to drink in the stands. Olympic rules apparently made an exception for the football in the UK as I was told by a steward. 90%-95% of people attending are neutrals never going to be any trouble so no reason that anyone shouldn't be allowed to drink in the stands. It's such a draconian attitude to suggest that only the football fans can't be trusted to drink whilst enjoying sport when every other event allows it.

BTW hope your Mrs don't drink wine- £5.20 for 187ml cost me a fortune!!
