I think that’s at least part of the cause but the result is the same. Effort/desire not enough.I think that's more confidence and personality to get on the ball when the chips are down.
Look at Haji he had a bad game and there was the usual groaning so his head went down.
It does to Doug, what if we'd won there and he wasn't able to sack Robins like he was dying to do?The timing is fekkin awful too.
A manager who's never lost in 8 games as manager against Sunderland sacked 2 days before with a promoted backroom staff member replacement. Surely he could've waited for the international break, it just makes no sense.
If I might add, it’s been crap over the last 26 games with a tally of 19 points. I found it difficult when people criticised Robins but I also felt ‘subdued’ given that the fan base has backed the club and we were seeing poor results. I’ve rarely criticised players because they are doing the leg work.If we started winning loads of games I'd be chuffed. That's why I go to football.
I’ve written the game off. Was hoping to go but Wednesday ruined it. Going St. Ives instead.I'm genuinely interested in seeing what happens tomorrow. If we play well and get a win, it's a possible indication that Carr and the other coaches have something to them.
They quite literally just put in a tremendous performance against LutonIf they now start to turn up and perform, how would you feel? Because that would indicate that something was wrong in their relationship with Robins or that they weren't happy with his management.
Would it mean DK got the call right? ie: No one man is bigger than the club and that the change was needed to guide these talented, expensive players in a different way.

The players are all bastards, should all be hounded out the club and we start from scratch again.
Which is why despite my concerns I was shocked by it. We’ve picked up 10 points in 5 games prior to Derby. They quite literally just put in a tremendous performance against Luton
Our last 4 matches we've picked up 7 points
If you wanted to sack a manager that was popular with the supporters and you were expecting a backlash, when would you do it?The timing is fekkin awful too.

were we dreadful against them? Yes - but I put that down to Derby doing a number on us. We never play well against that style of football
There’s still time to salvage something from the season imo Crazy to be saying that because it’s all to play for.My opinion was always that we needed to be top half by the November international break for Robins to keep his job. The loss to Derby ensured that wasn’t possible so I wonder if that was the club’s position as well.
For what it’s worth, I thought we’d seen enough ‘upward momentum’ for me to have given a few games’ grace but clearly the club had other ideas.
With the new coaches and the “mixed messaging” narrative it’s feasible that Robins wasn’t effectively articulating what he wanted us to be doing which has led to the lack of coherence.
Heard someone yesterday saying they wouldn’t even be happy if we went up because it wouldn’t be with RobinsI love MR and wouldn’t have sacked him
But if we went on a ridiculous run and got ourselves up the table then the owners decision has been justified really hasn’t it?
Slightly off piste, but I don’t want an adversarial relationship between fans and club owners either. This reaction of late has the potential to ruin our club again.
Would mean the players are pricks but I'd be happy with the wins
Nothing personal to you because I’ve seen this message a lot elsewhere but I just don’t get the sentiment behind it, why does it mean the players are pricks just because they were underperforming under Robins?
The bloke’s clearly a nice guy and tries to get along with everyone and keep the ship steady, the players would want to play for him. It’s not like they ever wanted Robins out, I don’t think a single player in that team thought “fuck it, I’m gonna play the worst football I’ve ever played just to spite Robins and get him sacked”. There’s just no reason why they would want him out, so why are they pricks? You might argue they’re a shit bunch of players physically but that doesn’t mean they’re pricks, surely?
Because you give the same effort every day in your job?
We have eyes, we can use Josh Eccles as a barometer of effort. We’ve seen these players when they try hard
More nonsenseIf there's a perceived change in attitude then questions may be asked, especially as there's already rumours about individual players
given we've been told by those that wanted Robins out that we have one of the best squads in the championship then the reality is that we should be expecting the new head coach to have us firmly in the play offs by Christmas. when that happens I would expect there to be less noise about Robins and less questions about Kings actions
It could be cos they downed tools or it could be because tactical setup improved post robinsIf they now start to turn up and perform, how would you feel? Because that would indicate that something was wrong in their relationship with Robins or that they weren't happy with his management.

I’m sure they’ll cope. The majority of footballers see themselves as employees of clubs, because they are.If they suddenly start turning up I will be happy to support a winning team again.
However my opinion of those players on a personal level would not recover. Going forward they are just employees of the club. I will support the team, but I have no particular well wishes for these as individuals.
Once they leave and return with another club I will boo them

I mean more in the way that they are unable to self motivate when the chips are down and just allow the manager to cop the slack. If they suddenly start performing when he's gone I personally don't think it will have anything to do with Robins being a poor manager.
The question is why would their effort be different ? They've proved that they can perform but inconsistency has always been there. Maybe someone else changes things for the good . If they don't it only proves that the players aren't as good as most of us thought they were.
I actually agree with you there tbf Chris. Obviously Robins has been a brilliant manager for us, and 100% deserves a statue, but it’s not impossible that the next permanent manager can get the players performing in a better way.
Not really. Too many factors to consider. This is still the team that he built.I love MR and wouldn’t have sacked him
But if we went on a ridiculous run and got ourselves up the table then the owners decision has been justified really hasn’t it?
