If true no wonger takeover is taking forever (1 Viewer)

Now this is third hand information so be kind, but spoke to a guy today who told me these takeover talks have involved a number of organisations, all have had to be spoken to, have their own agendas and there are still discussions to take place apart from the obvious, SISU, there's Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council, West Midlands Council, just why all these councils are involved heaven knows, ACL (who i always thought were Cov. counci), the Higgs charity trust, the local MP, local businesses including Tesco, the Football Association and the Football League plus those hopeful of takeing over who are supposedly from overseas. You can imagine the logistical nightmare trying to sort that lot out.
Apparently we are on the home straight but i have seen horses fall on that lets not start counting any chickens (or horses}yet.

I thought no wonga was the reason for a second there.
The chance to save this season has been and gone so if summat happens by the summer I'd be happy even if it means building back up from League one. Just hope Lee Clark is still available when or if the time arrives

Why is there all this fascination with Lee Clark? He may turn out to be ok, but the clammering for a man who has the largest budget for wages and transfers and yet has not managed to gain promotion in three attempts from a league we look like entering seems odd to me. Plenty of other candidates I would select ahead of him.

It may well be that whoever ER knows, or knows of, may want to talk to all these bodies. They might want to talk to the Samaritans as well. It is actually very simple. ACL have the lease on the Ricoh. If someone wants to make a bid for ACL they would have to talk to the Board of ACL who would make a recommendation to their shareholders: The Higgs Charity and the City Council. If they want to make an offer for CCFC they have to talk to that Board who would make a recomendation to their shareholder, in effect SISU.
If they want to buy the Charity's shares in ACL they either have had to have bought CCFC or have done a deal with CCFC. They have to talk to the Charity to agree a price and crucially have the consent of the City Council. If they want to buy the City Council's shares they have to agree a price with the City Council and crucially have the consent of the Charity.
At present nobody has talked to or has planned talks with the Higgs Charity about the possibility of buying the Charity's shares in ACL.

Just passing on info received and when i need advice or permission off you when or what to put on here I'll ask. I do know Warwickshire County Council own a lot of the land around the Ricoh the old Makro is on Warwickshire land for example. Might have the info wrong on West Midlands being a council, it may have been something to do with financing the Ricoh, Enterprise West Midlands or something like that

Any one ever think that the reason that we havent heard anything is that there are no meaningful talks at present, the talks such as they having stalled for one reason or another. Radio keeps saying talks go on but are they talks that are heading any where? It certainly seems that there are no talks going on regarding the stadium at the moment - yet we keep hearing that the deal for the property is done (clearly not). So if that info is incorrect how can we hang our hat on the buy out at CCFC actually happening.

SISU jumped at the chance to laugh off Hoffman's attempts in the summer. Silence means things haven't fallen apart, IMO.

OSB it's a kind of "thinking out loud" that I can relate to. It's not something I'm even directly thinking about any more, as there doesn't appear anything to think about just now. The best I can hope is that positive talks have taken place well out of the public eye, which is where they should be. But even in that scenario, it seems set to take a very long time with no guarantee of a positive SISU-less outcome at the end of it.

I don't expect anything big to happen before Summer, but have a nasty feeling that we'll be setting sail on the choppy waters of L1 under the stewardship of Captain SISU. I don't expect them to be asking for any less in June or July than they want now. If Hoffmans money men aren't wealthy enough to meet their demands now, well neither will they be in the Summer.

Maybe the actual Keys date for big news was in December 2012?!?

Oh, and by the way whoever questioned it, there is a West Midlands Councils - the collective LAs in the region. Although i imagine their influence is minimal whether they are involved or not.

As things stand whether Hoff is talking to SISU, slapping millions on the table, running around the Far East with a begging bowl or is close to completing a deal or having it all fall apart is totally immaterial at present and I believe we should just forget about it, let what happens happen and just concentrate on the real matter in hand - the one thing we can have some influence over and that is supporting the team we have, getting 100% behind them and hoping against hope we remain a Championship club, whoever the owners are next season.

West Midlands Councils is different to the West Midlands County Council, that ceased to exist in the '80's.

There is an orginisation call West Midlands Councils, but these would have no influence at all on the Ricoh, they just organise major projects that affect the whole region such as new roads etc.
