Just thinking aloud really, certainly not advocating it. But an umbrella brand of football, rugby and possibly netball/basketball under one roof would be a unique and possibly appealing investment opportunity.I doubt it

Would you support it?

Very True
Wasps are a brand, they don't represent a community, having said that they rely on the community for support but that's a different thing.
They've moved multiple times over the years.
Ah, the 'nomad' pretence again, you are Councillor Maton and I claim my five pounds.
Go do your research and then come back - the furthest Wasps ever moved from West London was Wycombe. Their academy has always been in West London. The current owners, when they first took over stated categorically that Wasps were a London team. The name of the team under those owners was... London Wasps.
There was in fact the opportunity to move back to London, not least of which with Brentford when they proposed building a new stadium. However, getting the Ricoh for peanuts was just too tempting for owners driven by profit rather than ethics or history. There are plenty of Wasps fans who haven't followed them. There are also more than a few CCFC fans acting as apologists for them, which I find amazing, and some that even pay money to watch them whilst they screw the (Coventry) club slowly out of existence.
As for Wasps being a global brand, that's rubbish too frankly. How many people on this board had even heard of them before they moved here? Man United (much as I dislike them) could legitimately claim to be a global brand. Rugby, much as I like it, is a minority sport.
Proof: If Coventry City were in the top four of the Premiership what do you think the attendence would be when the second best team in the Prem came to visit? Compare that figure to the attendance for Wasps v Exeter.
surely that's the point of posting on a message board?I know the Wasps history thank you.
I think you and me are going to differ in our views greatly, so I'm not going to engage you.

Clearly you don't their history if you're hiding behind this 'nomad' stuff. Perhaps you're not going to engage me because there simply are no facts anywhere to back up that assertion.
Support Wasps all you will, but be man enough to admit they're a franchise if you want to earn at least a modicum of respect - this pretence that they wandered the land hither and thither in search of a ground is rather embarassing.

Indeed, WTF are they doing? My dislike of SISU is the lack of any plan, let alone a viable plan. They seem void of ideas and resourcefulness.
The problem is , Mr Peeler, that no one associated with Coventry City has any affinity or interest with Wasps. They have stolen our stadium, our home, and therefore seriously denied us the opportunity to rebuild an already ailing club. Granted other parties can take the blame, but Wasps have taken a decision knowing full well it would be to the detriment of the city's football club and to the city's rugby club. I have absolutely no interest in the game of rugby, yet I have never disliked Coventry Rugby club but respect them for who they are, their history and what they do for our city. I do however, have no respect for wasps. They may think themselves a "big club" but they have no roots in our city and time will tell how long before their bubble bursts.ah ha! Now I understand why the tone of the post was so aggressive.
Up yours
Absolutely f&%king not. I'd rather lick John Prescotts ball bag after running a marathon than support a team owned by Wasps. That would be it for me. I'd be out permanently.
And for the life of me, I cannot work out how some people have the audacity to whinge stupidly about a hedge fund owner (and quite rightly to be fair) but say they'd accept ownership by another hedge fund owner who are massively throwing money at their project (like we did in the 90s) and have PERMANENTLY moved a club with over 100 years of history.
The mind f&%king boggles with some of our fans....
The argument is that we should support the club regardless of SISU. Same argument would apply to Wasps owning us.
Ok, on top my reasons in my first post Mart, I'd want to be owned by someone who had football as their first sporting interest. Not Rugby.
Well, I think interested in sporting success on it's own would be good enough. Look at Red Bull, they are involved with several sports - and are usually very successful. Success, and revitalising as in the case of RB Leipzig who are storming the Bundesliga, fits in with their image regardless of the sport.

No. They can Fuck Right Off.
Or someone they know will agree to what ever crap deal they offer us.My guess is Wasps will not buy/ rescue us but they will point someone towards the club who think they can work with.
Can't see the point in swapping one team moving hedge fund for another team moving hedge fund.
They would loose fans if they did so it won't happen.
It's a globally recognised name.
Ah, that'll be Sisu then.............?
No. They can Fuck Right Off.
I would say they would put a standalone management company in to do it and just run it as a separate business.
Economies of scale would give both teams an advantage.
