If Wasps publicly declared they wanted to buy CCFC (1 Viewer)

You mean like LONDON Wasps. I've capitalised the London there to give you a hint about my point.
Except they have only been called London Wasps for 15 of the 150 years in existence. At least get your facts right.

I would view any new owner with the utmost suspicion. We have probably had the worst but there are plenty of examples of bad owners in football.

With the wages in the Premier League, then looking at organisations like the Football League, the FA and FIFA, I am beginning to think the game I love is rotten to the core. I can see signs Rugby Union is starting to go down the same path.

The only benefit would be not having to worry about moving stadium - till they got bored throwing money at us and turfed us elsewhere.

We'd still not have a real academy - because we'd still only be sharing a fucking kicking barn 3 nights a week.

It is following the exact same path.

Very True

Wasps are a brand, they don't represent a community, having said that they rely on the community for support but that's a different thing.

They've moved multiple times over the years.

90% of the time in West London, and nearly all the rest in the London area.

Why would you say that, it's childish.

Don't worry. I'm sure he'd raise it for you if you promised to wear that slinky wasps number.

He will probably ask you if you want to see the size of his car park.

When they were formed in 1866 they were called Wasps, they only changed their name to London Wasps in 1999 and then back again to just Wasps in 2014.
And for how many years since 1866 were they not playing either in London, or a temporary home close to London?

They play permanently in Coventry now, get over it.

You must be new here.

They can't get over it, all they've got is the conspiracy theories and tales of nasty organisations out to get them that they've concocted over the years. To admit it's all nonsense now would be to admit a huge chunk of their life is entirely pointless and they're not some cross between Sherlock and Dana Scully who has figured out the great plan.

Leave them to it, it keeps them off the streets.

People know they are here you buffoon, its just you lambasted somebody for not knowing Wasps history, and somebody does the same to you and hey presto its the old Italia and Peeler and Shmeee get over it quote.

People can hate SISU, they can also dislike Wasps, but you cant grasp that. I neither want SISU or Wasps to control the Ricoh, I want CCFC to control it. I accept the current circumstances, which is too much for people like you or Shmeee to comprehend, but it doesn't mean I have to like it, nor that I cant disparage you as you sneer and disparage others.

Nice synopsis you formed in your little world. Perhaps people don't like Wasps as they don't like SISU, they want neither connected to CCFC nor the Ricoh, and would love the ground to be in the clubs hands.

A bit too much for you to comprehend?

Sure they can hate both, but Wasps already own the Ricoh and that isn't going to change, so hate it as much as you want, it's wasted effort.
I'm not sneering or disparaging anyone, I think you need to take a closer look at yourself. Glass houses and all that.

There is recent evidence of stadiums in London being basically given away. Would that not be tempting to owners who's only motivation is profit?

1. Are Wasps solely motivated by profit? No I think they genuinely want to be the top club side in Europe, but that would involve being profitable.
2. Stadiums in London. Wasps are not the only rugby union side looking to move out of the Capital. This is due to cost of being there verses level of support and also the number of clubs (saturation).
3. I think to come to this area they have chosen well. Rugby Union has a strong heritage and well established grass roots in Warwickshire and the West Midlands. In the 1960's to 1970's Coventry RFC and Moseley RFC were two of the best, the local derby was called the England trials match, in one game 16 international's were on display. There is a vacuum to be filled.

I sincerely hope Coventry and Moseley get back up there or at least into the Championship.

4. Why did Wasps come? Well I don't think it was to spite Coventry City FC or a rival hedge fund. "It was to save a proud club from going out of existance." Only Wasps fans can say whether the move was justified. There only seems to have been token opposition to the move. So far they seem to 1. Have a plan and 2. The ability to make it work. Early days but they do seem to be on course, waiting for them to fail could actually be fatal to Coventry City FC.

Most fans didn't even used to know who owned the club, it's years of SISU mismanagement
That as at least ensured we will always be cautious to new owners.
But on the question being asked, I would take the risk how could it possibly be any worse,
I always think back to what Otis said on here months ago.
What if Wasps owners but them solely too use as a key to the Ricoh, stranger things have
Happened.

Which other London sides are moving out of the capital? Haven't London Irish just opened talks to move back to London, ground sharing with Brentford?

London Welsh recently moved back to the London borough of Richmond having played in Oxford for a few years.

Saracens moved back to Hendon in North London in 2013 after playing (not a million miles away but outside of GL nevertheless) in Watford for a few years.

I didn't particularly want Sisu here, but accepted them, so why wouldn't I do the same with Wasps?

As I have said many times, just how many decent, honest, principled owners are out there in the football world?

How many are rather dodgy to say the least? Are all these Chinese owners around at the moment in the British game thoroughly decent and upstanding and not one of them part of a state that subjugates its people to tyranny and oppression?

The tone of your thread was lambasting, it was also in my opinion disparaging. I guess we shall agree to disagree.

Perhaps you should read more closely, I don't hate Wasps, so you are barking up the wrong tree I am afraid. Like SISU I would gladly see the back of them, and they and SISU are between CCFC and the Ricoh. I accept they are here, and shall gladly wave them off if they went to pastures new. I don't see them still here in 10-20 years, so will be glad when they go elsewhere. I am also the fan of local Rugby teams, and have been for a long time. I have stated this many times in my posts. I welcome Wasps as I would any football team moving in on CCFC's patch. They are unwanted and unwelcome. I can still rationalise it, which you don't seem to understand so there is no wasted effort on my part.

I also don't need to take a closer look at myself, as if you had read my post it said I would disparage you as you do others, so glass houses and all that had already been covered. I don't wish to or need to be insulting with you, I just formed my post on what came before. If you wish to engage more cordially I am all for that as well.

Who else is looking to leave the Capital? Saracens have just returned.

Known in Rugby playing country's. I doubt they are well known in Brazil, Germany or Indonesia to name but a few.

Doh! and the point is? CCFC aren't known in any of these countries either, maybe Germany.
