He’s a good striker who can barely play more than 20 games a season
I don't know about his early career but with us his absences have been freak. How many players need their appendix removing or plantar fascitis. It's not like he has frequent hamstring issues etc. He is just very unfortunate.

Plantar Fascitis is literally one of the most common injuries in football

Common Football Injuries

Ankle sprains.
Knee injuries.
Quad, hamstring, and groin strains.
Hip pointers.
Shoulder dislocations.
Acromioclavicular sprains.
Wrist and hand injuries.
Football concussions.

Apologies if this comes across as being (Plantar) facetious

If you had a car that had zero value due to depreciation over the years, yet still ran perfectly well, you wouldn't necessarily ditch it just because it had zero value.

no but you’d wait ti see if it hadn’t packed up completely before deciding to renew it another year - not do it two years early

The worst thing godden / the club did was allow him to play with the injury not properly treated at the time .. that came back to bite us ..

Godden hasn't packed up completely , infact since you first moaned about him recieving a new contract he scored plenty of goals

His appendix burst grendel

that’s not my point he had another year anyway extending to two is not wise we are Stuck with Kelly for one more year which is a wasted wage next season

I still don't see the problem with his new contract , he's here until he's what ? 32/3 not 63

He scores goals , even upto 32/3 you would imagine he can offer something ..

Can't see the issue at all

It's also weird as , we rarely get many strikers here that score pretty much 1 in 2 in the league .. mind boggles but it's not surprising

What surprises me most m8 is you’re not at the point when you realize you’re wasting your time

Why not offer him a contract ? He's going to score goals and admits he's felt fitter than ever since his return .. can't help what's just happened to him can he

We to assume you wouldn't offer a contract to anybody that's had an injury ? That's not how football works

Andy Carroll is shite yet still gets gigs at 33

We have no money hence why Allen was extended as will probably Shipley, next season will be an interesting one for sure as let’s face it Robins is getting peanuts for a budget,if he’s still at the club that is etc

About the only decent finisher we have at the club, but desperately slow and getting on a bit now.

I wouldn’t offer him a new deal.

It isn’t always about blistering pace to be a striker, Godden Has speed of thought sees and gets into good positions and isn’t wasteful and a good chance taker I am sure as we speak MR is on the look out for other strikers may even have one on radar, no issues with Godden at all.
