Is Burrows any good at defending? Does he look better than he is stats wise because he takes penalties? Never seen him play. What's the story?

Very highly rated by Peterborough fans, and built up a great understanding with a certain EMC! I'd definitely prefere him to Dasilva. And he's better at pens than a former RWB that I won't mention. 🤐

That's my worry with him. Fine attacking but can he defend. League 1 to Championship is a big leap and I have a feeling it's even tougher for wingbacks who are expected to be able to attack and defend.

I'm fine with us signing him but would be quite worried to lose Bidwell at his expense.

Stats have their place, but i think our scouts might actually attend matches and watch players rather than just googling some random stats sight.

Or maybe you think anyone with an Internet connection could be a talent scout now?
Pretty much yeah. With wyscout and similar there’s little need to actually attend games.

Me too. But wasn't there a rumour that our other left back might be off to better things in Germany? If so Burrows would be the perfect replacement imo.

Not true, and at 22 there's loads of potential there.
it is true. I watched Pboro a lot after we signed EMC. Hes fantastic going forwards and has a great understanding with EMC however he's positionally poor defensively and not the quickest as well. Pboro fans would tell you the same

Although linked with all these players, I think we are awaiting a new GK, CB, CM, ST, LB and RB perhaps, Surely need to see movement out now as well - Bidwell or Dasilva, Godden, Wilson, Howley, Burroughs, Lati and Allen are names I could all see leaving

Not to undermine what you are saying but he was league one player of the season which implies he can't have been 'that' bad and left backs aren't always easy to come by (looking at you Southgate).

Do reckon Bidwell might see off another pretender though. ;)

I'd have him over Dasilva any day of the week.

And given a full pre-season I'd be excited to see him play. And as I said at 22 he's far from the finished article, loads of improvement and development (and profit) still to come.

I also think he'd learn so much from Bidwell, and the two could become interchangeable to give Burrows some rest time and a break when needed.

Although I have to say I doubt if we could prize him away without spending silly money.

he's a good player but the issue is his attacking is much better than his defending which could be an issue at a higher level than league one

no one is saying he is a bad player but he won player of the year for his attacking and not his defending

Yeah agree with all of that - was just highlighting that currently his defending is poor. But having him and Bidwell would be great options

It’s still early in the window, we’re probably going to sign 7 or 8 players this summer. We’ve got some great signings that have great profiles but the gap will be 1-3 players with experience.

The value of having Kelly and McFadz in the Championship was huge even if they weren’t the best players.

I think that was just a bit of gossip wasn't it. Just can't see it personally, Dasilva has 3 years left on his deal, players don't tend to leave 1 year in.

Dasilva like him or not is that luxury lwb that is more attacking than defensive. I'd be pretty terrified if we only had him and a untested youngster going into the season.

I'm up for upgrading Bidwell but it needs to be with an all rounder, if anyone can suggest a left sided MVE that would be ideal?!

Can he play further up the pitch and optionally cover for Haji too?
