Yes just Cov, well it will be the area Cov Council cover which might not exactly match the city boundaries but will be pretty close.
Problem is developers can sit on the land. That then forces the council to unlock greenfield sites to meet the new housing requirements, land also owned by the developers, who can then build nice new estates that make them a much bigger profit margin.
I like to think of us as providing a service to the local community, or am I expected to run at a loss? Don't forget most of us are doing it as our pensions will be worth fuck all, so need to supplement it elsewhere.
Everyone demonises BTL landlords, we take all the risk for little reward. Now that they've changed the tax laws on it, it's just not worth getting into any more.
no, let's stop getting involved in wars in sovereign states.
And it's not about opening borders, but look at the before and after pictures Pete posted, when you're faced with a choice of staying in that situation, fleeing to another country or fleeing towards the Islamists what would you do?
Remember, despite what people on here say, the majority of Syrians have fled over the border to Turkey and no further.
You did call refer to Syria as a third world country before so I'm not sure you have a rudimentary grasp of the situation to be honest.
Enough do. We are still a wonderful country at heart. Wouldn’t want to ask earlsdon or western thingy for help though
They are building an extension to Hillmorton effectively, though they're pushing it as a new oversized village. It isn't a new town and it is totally unnecessary. Plenty of housing still going up in Cawston and north Rugby near the M6. There is also new housing in Long Lawford .They’re building an entire new town on the outskirts of Rugby at the moment on the site of the old radio station. There’s space. What there isn’t is an appetite by developers to develop the land that they have in their land banks. The government has changed the law to make it easier to develop these land banks but they’re still reluctant to do so. The reason! Over inflated house prices because of a housing shortage increases their profits and pleases their share holders.
Still. It’s probably easier to blame immigrants so let’s do that instead.
How are you deciding on the deserving ones then earlsdonI'm probably one of the kindest people you'll ever meet.
Just because I don't swallow the naive bullshit that everyone coming here is an actual refugee, doesn't mean I don't think genuine refugees shouldn't have a roof over their heads.
The UK is one if the most tolerant countries in the world, which is why its master culture is slowly being allowed to get erased.

We are sucking in an extra 200 - 300,000 immigrants a year and so it is right to raise this as a factor in pressure on housing.
It is if it's Houlton, once hailed as the new "town centre" of Rugby. Will be snapped up by opportunist landlords who will let them to those working near DIRFT and distribution centres on the A5.Not really. It’s the opposite side of the railway and canal, it’s not linked to hillmorton, it’s going all the way up to the A5, they’ve built a new primary school, an academy with more schools planned, shops, pub, over 6000 houses planned and a new link road to Rugby which ends by the junction with Butlers Leap and Clinton Road. RBC are also still not hitting the targets for housing set by the government so clearly it is needed.
I have a confession: I get a bit cheesed off every time I walk past a shop which is clearly for eastern Europeans simply because the signage above the doors is emblazoned in Polish/Hungarian etc. It makes me angry . It makes me think of segregation rather than integration.Auschwitz the nazis and the final solution. Just watching on yesterday channel. That’s what happens when you demonise and dehumanise a group of people because of their race. Let’s be careful with how we talk about our fellow human beings

On the other hand I work closely with Polish workers on site and my neighbours are a young Polish family whom we get on with extremely well. I find them respectful, hard working and family orientated.
I have a conflict here and can't reconcile the two emotions.
That's just food, what about heat, light and water? Where do you keep your frozen food? How do you boil the water for your tea? Oh and how do you get to Sainsburys?Just wanted to show how easy it is to live on £5 a day.
Using Sainsburys pricing too, so could be got cheaper elsewhere.
Breakfast = 38p
Porridge - 1kg - £1.20 - 1 months for 1 person. = 4p a day.
Frozen fruit - £2 - 6 servings = 34p
Lunch: = 94p
Granny Smith apples - 6 for £1.50 = 25p
Bananas - 5 for 95p = 19p
Pre bagged salad - 170g for £1 (2days) = 50p
Tea: = £1.22
Chicken Breast - £1
Frozen Veg - 1kg - £1 / 14 days = 8p
Rice - £1.70 / 13 days = 14p
£2.54 for a full days healthy eating, where you will be full all day. Plenty of money for things like eggs, milk, flour, chocolate, etc. Not bad considering you now have a roof over your head, no bills and you've never paid into the system.
And I am sure people experienced the exact same thoughts and feelings when Indians starting moving here in the 50’s and 60’s.I have a confession: I get a bit cheesed off every time I walk past a shop which is clearly for eastern Europeans simply because the signage above the doors is emblazoned in Polish/Hungarian etc. It makes me angry . Just within that post you've demonstrated you don't have a grasp of what is going on.Exactly, the key word being 'getting' involved. We didn't start those wars, we didn't tell Asad to go mental, and we didn't give instructions to ISIS.
The notion that we should feel overwhelming guilt from the whole country because of a decision made by a few people in government is pretty ridiculous.
For the record, of all the 'migration' to Europe in the last 5 years, this repetitive notion that they are all Syrian is also ridiculous.
Also, given that the population of Syria was 18 million, and given that most of them are still there, or as you say in Turkey... Where are the other millions in Europe actually from?
Saying I don't have a grasp on this is a low blow, equally trying to make out that Syria isn't currently a third world location is also mental.
I'm probably one of the kindest people you'll ever meet.

I only want us to help genuine refugees.
But any system that helps people will have those that take the piss whether it's asylum, benefits right through to accident compensation
You don't end the scheme, you try and weed out the piss takers.
And as for saying how kind you are I can't say whether that's right or not because I don't know you but you strike me as someone with very little empathy for your fellow humans if they're not white European.
That's exactly it isn't it? 'You're not empathetic unless you follow this narrative'. The next stage is to call me a racist because I'm suspect on how many refugees are actually genuine.
I think it’s helpfiul to articulate the conflict. The dehuminsation is so dangerousI have a confession: I get a bit cheesed off every time I walk past a shop which is clearly for eastern Europeans simply because the signage above the doors is emblazoned in Polish/Hungarian etc. It makes me angry . No not at all it’s to engage in discussion that’s the narrative. We each have a story and experiences that can be broad or narrow but will be broadened by having the conversation on here or in person. We don’t have to just make our points we have to actively listen and engage in the narrative of those around us including refugees and asylum seekers coming to our countryThat's exactly it isn't it? 'You're not empathetic unless you follow this narrative'. The next stage is to call me a racist because I'm suspect on how many refugees are actually genuine.
Granted, but I do think that when you have a Polski Delikatessee (excuse spelling) parked up next to a Spar, as is the case in an area of Rugby where I live, I do wonder whether it brings people together or actually creates a dividing line. Both shops serve the local community well and happily both seem to continue to survive economically, but of course you rarely see Eastern Europeans in the Spar ,which wasn't the case before the Polish shop opened, which I always felt was a good thing in many ways. Now they don't bother, unsurprisingly. And I am sure people experienced the exact same thoughts and feelings when Indians starting moving here in the 50’s and 60’s.
Yet we now have no problem with going into Indian owned shops or nipping into restaurants for a vindaloo!
There's a sign above the door which I can't read, so I don't go in. Lots of other shops I do use mind you. Before I turned vegetarian it made me think of sausages so I used to go in and buy them. Shocking thing is it wasn’t a scary experience and the sausages were great. I guess integration is a two way streak. There isn’t a sign on the door saying no British. The world is shrinking, you’re just going to have to grow up and deal with it.
Some good stuff in polish shops we don't get, e.g. wild mushroom stock cubes. The ham and polish sausages are great as well. Before I turned vegetarian it made me think of sausages so I used to go in and buy them. Don't they have a lot of beetroot stuff too? Some good stuff in polish shops we don't get, e.g. wild mushroom stock cubes. The ham and polish sausages are great as well.

Fuck me! You sound like such a victim. Do they need someone to tie their shoes for them as well? I've worked in these homes, and everything gets provided for them. What about heat, light and water? Heat is from central heating, light comes from the sky or a lamp and water comes from a tap, How do you boil the water? in a pan over a flame or use the provided kettle. How do you get to the supermarket? You have a full day to fill with nothing, walk there, get some excercise.
Fucking loads!I like a bit of beetroot but they love the stuff.
They have these beetroot flavoured hot drinks, like cup a soups, they're nice.
Not to sure about some of it though

More gibberish.
Empathy has nothing to do with any narrative.
You don't display empathy.
You would rather just open the borders to anyone than actually ask the question as to how many refugees are genuine, because that would just be racist wouldn't it?
It' a shame, I thought you had more balls than that.
You're a dixckhead and if that's what you conclude from my posts then you're stupider than I thought.
Certainly more British than you..CYou're not British, you're a disgrace.
