Or alternatively, we unleash the ROD!!!
Roy O'Donovan has scored 9 in 15 for Hartlepool. In this league.
If it's ROD up front my prediction of 14th is going to look very, very ambitious indeed me thinks.
Simplified way of looking at it.
If Forest had a player on loan at MK Dons last season, and we (whilst in the championship) were looking at signing him.
It wouldn't even be a debate about if we'd get him ahead of MK Dons. Of course we would.
We will not keep him, doesn't matter if he 'loves it here' or not. Life is about progression and a league above us is progression, more money or not.
I'm not saying this is going to happen, but look at Clingan, left Norwich to play for us, short term, better move, long term, well, we got relegated to L1 Norwich are now in the prem.
Sometimes you have to think about long term rather than short term even if it means playing at a worse level on less pay.
With you all the way on that BUT players do not think like that I'm afraid. They see the £ sign first and foremost. Having said that, it is a short career so you can't really blame them.I'm not saying this is going to happen, but look at Clingan, left Norwich to play for us, short term, better move, long term, well, we got relegated to L1 Norwich are now in the prem.

But he loves it here like bigi
Bigi, didn't go to one of the biggest clubs in the country, one of the best supported yes,Newcastle have never won jack.
I feel that if we offer him a decent contract with get out clauses that are fair so he could move easily if had a really good opportunity come his way then he would remain where he is for the season at least.
We are not MK Don's in that analogy either. CCFC no matter what you think is a way bigger club than most teams in the Championship never mind in league 1. Prospects are there for promotion runs and like Norwich you may find yourself in the Prem quicker than you would otherwise get there if you went to say Barnsley?
But before that we have to have an offer accepted by Forest, potentially competing against clubs from a higher league with bigger transfer kitty's.
I think, weirdly, we might be willing to pay more (250k ish) because of his importance to us whereas a championship team may think it's a risk and not offer that much. In short, we might pay over the odds. I hope so anyway.
Do you think we should pay the £900k rent we owe first?
There's absolutely no way that we will pay over the odds for him....£250k no chance.
