Interesting statement from Waggott (1 Viewer)

With the judicial review and other things around the Ricoh Arena and where we’re going to be next year, I am planning for Sixfields,” said Waggott –“but who knows what’s going to happen in the near future.

To me it says he is planning for sixfields at the moment but a chance this could change and back at the Ricoh?

Does what it says on the tin.

Planning for Sixfields. None of us know what's going to happen in the future. Can't see anything in that statement at all that's anything different from previous to be honest.

Unless you actually wanted a straw then I'd imagine you'd be quite happy

Not the Ricoh - it will be at the brand spanking new stadium that's been under construction for the past year in secret. It's camouflaged and made from invisible materials and all new season ticket holders will be given x-ray type glasses to be able to find the stadium which is somewhere in the Warwickshire countryside.

I thought everyone knew that. :)

Wish he'd just fuck off along with the rest of the wankers :(

Are you going to step in and pay the operating costs and player's wages? I forget that there is a huge queue of people lined up to buy the club. Any potential investors would likely press for a similar deal to what sisu want on the stadium. Why would you go anywhere near a club whose fans openly display a high regard for a stadium management company who have charged excessive rent over a number of years and pocketed over revenue. All of which they wouldn't have got of it hadn't been for the club in the first place.

It was my understanding! that he was planning to play at a new stadium, but that ill conceived Ballony, seems to have blown away in the summer wind, just like the status of a well loved, and highly respected, football club.

4/10

Needs more pomposity. Maybe make the implication the fans are killing the club more explicit.

I love the argument of there isn't a huge queue of people waiting to buy the club. If (if) that's true have you never stopped to think why? Here's a clue, it isn't because any potential new buyer is looking at the fine job sisu have done and thought "I can't follow that".

I also love the assumption that any new owner would also want the unnumbered freehold like sisu because that's the only option.

I also like the way you've spun disregard for the club's owners into regard for a stadium management company like it's all the supporter's fault.

Sick boy makes a valuable point. Not so sure about the last sentence mind.
However it raises the question most on here continually ignore: If SISU end it all (and most likely by liquidating the club) what then?

Be careful what you wish for. The group backed by former directors and fantasist Hoffman failed to wrestle the club from SISU even with the Council and ACL's obvious backing. No one else will come in and rescue our club in it's current state.

That maybe true-none of us can really see into the future, but that statement is your opinion and definitely not a fact.

It's coming sooner than most people think IMO . If they lose the JR and don't negotiate with ACL /CCC after then I can't see them carrying on TBF .

Sounds like he is fed up of the lot of it as we all are. Just stating the bloody obvious really.

Bigger and better stadium attracts bigger and better players. Simple really.

Sheffield United have just signed their seventh player of the summer I wonder which team will finish higher the one that signs players now or the one that scratches around until the end and then signs whatever is left?

I'd imagine the one with the biggest turnover and wage bill will finish higher 90% of the time.

Which will also be the one that doesn't play every game away from home and who haven't alienated 90% of it's revenue generating customers I would guess....

We are at Sixfields definitely, that's a fact today. What's going to happen in the future....Ricoh return, liquidation, or something in between?

Who knows, let's not have loads of debate on speculation turning over the same old ground.

You make a valid point. Had SISU engaged the fans and got them on their side, then they could have quite easily been the heroes. Indeed with the right spin, ACL and CCC could have been made to the villains. But no they played the bad guys, wanted to look tough, did everything to alienate the fan base by trying to act like they had bought a supper market chain where customers can be persuaded by money off coupons or cash back deals when they do their shopping. Football is nothing like that, we have a loyalty to one club and one club only. Piss 'em off enough and they will go. Not only lost to CCFC but lost to football all together.

Why are we in this league then

When we came down, we must have had the biggest or very closest to the biggest wage bill in the league

What you mean some or our huge debt went to a group of useless turds and a f*cking clueless manager who got us relegated. Oh well just more to add to the list of bleeding the club dry.

Not even close, the three promoted teams had wage bills of £27m (reading), £29m (Southampton) and £41m (west ham). Our turnover was £10.8, in the bottom 3-4 in the league. Our entire wage bill was £9.91m.
