Interesting statement from Waggott (1 Viewer)

Think you have misunderstood the OPs reply,he was meaning the wage bill in the 1st division.

Yep, I stand corrected misread it. Yeah we probably did, think it was about £7m IIRC, but then having been relegated we had a lot of players on big contracts who didn't have the talent to back it up (look at the turnover of players at Southampton, charlton, sheff wed's etc who were relegated then took 2+ seasons to rebuild their squads;also bristol city's wage bill was ridiculously high(£17m the previous season) yet lacked quality) we also let Thorn waste our transfer kitty, had Shaws disastrous caretaker stint then got a 10 point deduction.

I would like to believe there is something in Steve Waggott's statement, but I know better than that!

That being said after the JR, if there are no appeals, maybe all these parties will see sense and negotiate.. One step at a time let's get the JR decision first..

Not even close, the three promoted teams had wage bills of £27m (reading), £29m (Southampton) and £41m (west ham). Our turnover was £10.8, in the bottom 3-4 in the league. Our entire wage bill was £9.91m.

Think two of those had parachute payments and Southampton a sugar daddy owner, we have SISU !

Yep, but regardless of us having sisu, it does show how hard it is for us to compete at the top end of the championship. Especially when you consider some of optimism that we could do a Southampton double promotion when we first got relegated.

With the judicial review and other things around the Ricoh Arena and where we’re going to be next year, I am planning for Sixfields,” said Waggott –“but who knows what’s going to happen in the near future.

To me it says he is planning for sixfields at the moment but a chance this could change and back at the Ricoh?

You don't think THIS (http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/council-land-sale-could-pave-7264589) may be in their thought by any chance? Stadium (etc) on the Warwickshire side of the border...houses (£££) on the Coventry side.

Are you going to step in and pay the operating costs and player's wages? I forget that there is a huge queue of people lined up to buy the club. Any potential investors would likely press for a similar deal to what sisu want on the stadium. Why would you go anywhere near a club whose fans openly display a high regard for a stadium management company who have charged excessive rent over a number of years and pocketed over revenue. All of which they wouldn't have got of it hadn't been for the club in the first place.

If that is the case then why the fuck has it taken Sisu 7 years to 'press' for what they want on the stadium? Don't come back with the "they have tried" line because that is bollocks because deals were there to be had.

Battered Wife. I'm telling you.

"Sisu are OK really"
"We wouldn't get anything better"
"We deserve them really"

Fucking textbook.

Because they were naive, but when they suddenly realised the Club was in essence a bottomless pit in which they were chucking money into but never seeing a return, they had to act, no one disputes from the moment they bought the Club.

FFS you couldn't make it up. Multi-Millionaire hardnosed business people who have taken over distressed companies all over the world in very aggressive circumstances are naive!! I think you mean the people who fall for their bullshit over and over again and think that they need a pat on the back are the naive ones.

So if Labovitch DID try and get talks on the table to bring us back then surely it was a good effort?

Or is it only a good effort when somebody sends out a newsletter or holds up a SISU out banner or something?

The only thing that deserves a pat on the back is holding up a bit of paper with SISU Out on it seems as that is going to solve everything.

Who mentioned holding up a piece of paper Nick? Did I anywhere in the posts I have made or say that is what should be done. I made made a post, you asked for proof and I gave it so what you are on about answering me with that stuff god only knows but that seems to be your way of answering people by taking it back to the what you deem to be the shouty brigade against Sisu when it wasn't even talked about (not by me on these posts anyway).

Making noises about maybe attempting to undo a situation that you've created in the first place isn't a good effort. It's the least they should be doing.

That I don't care about frankly neither does your opinion of me interest me in the slightest, however the reason I called you a hypocrite was because you are constantly suggesting how the Club would be better off at the Ricoh yet the moment they try to make a call or suggest it might be worth doing you find a hundred different ways to disapprove of the idea.

You may think I have nothing better to do than then to go through all your posts and finding two matching statements that comprehend my argument but I think you know damn well what I mean and don't need me to prove it.

Right so we are down from a hundred to two, I'd hate for you to look an arse yet again but I don't know 'damn well' what you mean so unfortunately for you, you are going to need to prove it otherwise you may end up looking an arse again
