I was just about to Google "Simon Regiski", when the penny dropped.
Thought you were an alienMy mates uncles mate told me about this too. He's involved WATCH THIS SPACE.
I can't say anymore than that or I'll be abducted by aliens.
Do you have to be a "True Coventrian" to support "Solihull Barons" errr I mean "Coventry Blaze?"
why? This thread is almost too dumb to comment on, but IF a ground was built in that area even somewhere near to the Ryton training ground within 3 months we would be enjoying gates akin to the Sixfields farce

Not in the least. Just wondering when it comes to Wasps, a "True Coventrian" wouldn't watch them, but no mention of "True Coventrians" not watching "Blaze"......Curious?Wasps curious are we?

Really excited about the possible new stadium near Baginton Airport - this is Cov to me (although it might be under RBC's jurisdiction) - I think this would be awesome - and no need to worry about the traffic, the work they are doing on that area and kamikaze island is going to make the traffic flow so much better through that area.
Plus you get some cracking views of Cov from around there (from Baginton), especially of the three spires.
PUSB!
I wouldn't think that such a development in Baginton is going to be plain sailing in terms of planning which means time and money costs
- the local residents are not going to be happy (Baginton and down through in to Finham)
- The infra structure round Tollbar end might be being improved but the roads around the airport leave many problems
- there will be considerable parking issues
- CCC carries a considerable interest in the area and will need to be involved in planning that's apparently an issue for SISU
- public transport is at the moment insufficient and will require CCC involvement
- out of town retail sites are not flavour of the month (will need retail to support build costs), is there even a need in the area for another retail site? That could be a problem if the stadium is to be piggy backed on other developments
- will additional retail be viewed positively against plans already in place?
- it is still greenbelt despite it being involved in the Gateway project. That Gateway project seems to have been centred on warehousing which would see less in the way of traffic peaks etc
- Floodlights so close to the runway might be an issue- especially when there is little other light pollution in the area
- is there a planning issue with the Ryton Training base so close? It has already been turned down for other uses hasn't it?
Not too long to wait to find out where as the initial planning has to be in by September. After that if it is that site I can foresee many challenges and even if successful the first brick not being laid for years
Wouldn't a developer need to at least brief the surrounding authorities if there is an infrastructure implication?
This is the original gateway plan

Wouldn't be at all surprised if the Airport, Rigby been losing serious amounts of money there, only got it for the Gateway which doesn't appear to be happening now.
Planning permission could be a problem though, though sure the sensitive souls in Bubbenhall and Stoneleigh wouldn't be so bothered as long as fans aren't flying over their houses.
The land all owned by CCC though so would rule have ruled out the "not working with CCC" thing, though things do change when pragmatism takes hold.
Strangely seem to remmber half of it was CCC for planning permission and half WCC, but the new terminal was in the WCC bit.
Shouldn't have been a problem anyway as WCC had granted outline permission for a terminal up to 5million people a year I think for years, but somebody on the airport legal side fucked up and allowed it to lapse, hence the locals able to get their objections in.
Whilst certainly a large enough area, and a pretty good site really, especially as the death roundabout improvements will all be completed by the time anything could possibly be built, think too many obstacles from planning and political sides for there.
I am confused, the majority of posters say they do not believe a new stadium will be built ( which it won't) but yet every time someone adds a story or a whisper about it its the number one topic discussed, why discuss something that you feel will never be built?
Or is it a hidden feeling amongst many that hope a new stadium is built and you can all thank Fisher for it.

Of course we all want a new ground, or at least a permanent ground, the doubt is entirely in Sisu's ability to deliver.

Because no fucker can get there, might have escaped your notice but 90% of support comes from within the Coventry boundary and most can't be arsed to go to the edge of Longford to watch us so who will bother with a rural hike to Baginton village, no-one unless we are the new Barcelona. Club would be dead within a couple of years. In fact just in time for Coventry United to climb a couple of more leagues and pitch in for the vacant slot at the Ricoh !why?
Thanks for the clarification, it is lovely how everyone rolled over had their bellies tickled and done nothing for a ground that was ours in the first place but failed to listen when advised the council were doing the dirty ( like I pointed out long before it was completed).
Cannot wait for the 18,000 legoland to be built.
I take your point. I suppose over time people forget the history and get on board as they have done with Blaze and will do with Wasps, although I'm not excusing it. I think its the speed and willingness to turn that I find a bit distasteful.
I find it inevitable myself. Especially given everything SISU have done to turn the good folk of Coventry and Warwickshire away from CCFC.
Makes you wonder if plan B is/should be to starve wasps out by claiming back your fan base. It would certainly make sense of the appointment of TM and a willingness to let him take control of football side.
Agree to an extent. Ccfc needs to win the fans back but I would also say that ccfc fans could do the club a favour by also boycotting wasps.

How many CCFC fans do you think go to Wasps? Just curious. I don't know anyone who does. I wonder if it's a large number or not?
Hmm, well on the Wasps point, while we stay at the Ricoh we need to totally outsell Wasps on the attendances front. it puts us in a much stronger position if we are getting 13,000 - 15,000, while they are only get 5,00 - 6,000.
We need to be the major sporting team in this city and remain so and the more success we have, the important we are to this city.
