Cannot for the life of me understand why Simms isn't given an opportunity ahead of Godden. Totally baffling
Well up to today i was happy to keep faith with Godden. But after today, Simms has to be first choice now. I think he needs that committment from the manager

We were awful in the first 20/30 mins but I think we've been ok since against a very good team that look nailed on for promotion.

Had the penalty gone in I think we would have nicked a point.

Pissed off with the start, but not as down about the overall performance as most seem to be.

Anyone know the wage bill of this lot? The promoted league 1 team was better.

I don’t agree with the second half of the post, but I would have sold Gyokeres, and maybe we should have made Hamer run his contract down. We have/are missing him dreadfully.

We have but when you look at the big chances missed over the season and it’s not like we’ve not been creating.

I’m not going to get too worked up about today as frustrating as it is. Robins picked the wrong line up but one positive is more minutes in Ohares legs

Lads we've lost 1 in the last 4 and against a team that's won now 17 of the last 18 home games .. we got some things wrong but I'm not sure we've been bad enough to destroy the players and team

I've just left the game , it's been pretty even for the most part, they're a good side

Ipswich have been playing with the cuban cigars out 2nd half. Could have beat us 4 or 5 had they wanted. The are way better than us which is disappointing really given they were L1 next season.
top 10 finish with this squad will be amazing.

It is a lesson though in needing to have the confidence to stick with your own system and not grovel just because of the opposition's league position. May have lost regardless but would have been interesting.

How is their keeper playing in the same colour as the ref? Think we should complain and get a re match.

Yea I'm sure a lesson will be learnt today , and I'm sure the change was done with the right intentions , but you could see it wasn't the best .. we've not been outclassed and we messed up the real chance to get back in it

He’s been the tinkerman all season. Should’ve learnt his lesson. Maybe he was concerned about certain players fitness but team selection was wrong especially against a team who aren’t the best at the back

Interesting conclusion to draw from saying they aren't the best team the league's seen in years. They aren't the best in it even this season.
So what did you expect today then ?

This is excruciating.
People will focus on the starting formation and personnel, and rightly so, but our passing has been abject, both halves, pre and post substitutions, its been awful.
Goes to show that the cohesion this group had been building was pretty fragile and it can't tolerate more than the odd change.

Irks me that a few are sniping at Ipswich just bc they were third division last season. A quick look around the internet showed three teams went back to back promotions to premier league in last 30 years (Watford, soton, norwich) and I think it took wolves and blades maybe a second season or so(cannot quite remember). Ipswich clearly doing something right against basically everyone else so far
