I am finding it hard to be positive. Not really because of our indifferent start, used to that, but the lack of strengthening in the window was hugely disappointing. Well, in areas we needed to strengthen. It seems our whole midfield is built on HOPING that Sheaf stays fit. Not good enough if we want to challenge for promotion. Yet another season of consolidation?

It will be another season of valiantly falling short, then another summer of big squad upheaval. Which is why I doubt MR will get another crack at it and to be quite honest, maybe it will be best that someone else has a go.
Not that I really trust King to get that decision right either.

Yeah, I'm the same.
I think we'll be fine as long as Sheaf stays fit and to a slightly lesser extent, Eccles, but if Sheaf gets injured and then say Eccles is out suspended at the same time, I think we would be buggered.

We're playing in Coventry in front of crowds of 27,000.
I get to stand in a safe standing home end behind a goal next to away fans.
We have a fantastic pre-game anthem using one of my favourite ever songs.
Home games are now a great day out and there a multiple options for a drink.
Our team is full of 'big names' for this level, a few of whom we've managed to keep despite interest from big teams.
I get a few points on here about losing twice at Wembley on penalties, however, last year's cup run provided possibly my favourite away game and the best day out I've had following Coventry.
That day at Wembley against United is the most proud I've ever been following Coventry and I've never been more proud of being from Coventry. WLADITT was pure civic pride.
Next week we are playing a top 6 PL side for the first time since 2009 and only the second ever at the Ricoh/CBS. Very excited for it.

Still positive...We played absolute shite against Stoke, 70 mins of Bristol, and the 2nd half against Norwich, but only conceded 3 goals, and didn't lose all 3 games.

Still positive. We're normally relatively crap starters to a season but work it out so I'm not concerned.
Of course I'd prefer to start the season but hitting the ground running, 9 points from 9 etc but I'm certainly not losing sleep about us not being in the PO mix come the end of the season.

I have recently been watching football from the 1980s and 1990s on YouTube, up to Alex Ferguson's Man U at their best. Football now is absolutely shite compared to then . Now it's all about possession. Tippy tappy crap where no one dare shoot unless they're in the penalty box .
And whatever happened to proper goalkicks? I cringe ever time we walk the ball out from a goalkicks. I know it's the modern way, but even in the Euros most teams didn't do it.

Is that a serious question? I’d say over the last two seasons the list is a long one. Dovin, Van Ewijk, Kitching, Wright, Simms, Sakamoto, Thomas-Asante, Binks, Rudoni. Some would make a case for Torp, Thomas, Bassette and Mason-Clarke. A team + 2 subs!

It does amuse me that amongst the possession based guff that is spouted two of the most frequent comments especially towards the end of games are “they’ve started to go a bit longer now as they need a goal” and “they’re now bringing another centre forward on as they need a goal”. Surely you always need a goal? With most games you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stepped in to an ironing convention the amount of time “the press” is discussed.

I'm over Luton, better side on the day and the team who finished third in the division in the end went up and I can't really argue with that - I certainly wasn't jealous of them when they were managing two wins after the turn of the year and getting pasted every other week
However part of my love for football as a sport was left at Wembley in April, I don't think I will ever get over that game unless we win a major trophy in my lifetime and the chances of that are very slim! I just haven't been as emotionally invested in football since that moment and I include being there in the flesh watching England lose the Euros final in that cause in my view it was a complete injustice
Funny isn't it, I went into the Man Utd game with the attitude of 'This is a complete free hit and primarily about the day out' and I left more gutted than I was after the play off final

That’s what VAR does, it lets people have the greatest feeling in football then takes it away because Alex Ferguson drew a line through Wan-Bissaka’s boot in a rush and decided by 0.1 mm that a player was offside.
The officials in the ground thought it was a legit goal, it should have stood on that basis.
My concern is that only Wright and MVE have shown consistency in form. Jury is still out on Dovin, BTA and Rudoni.
The others Simms and Saka need to shoe some form, to show they haven't been found out by opposition so one season wonders. Kitching isn't a starter currently, and there is often discussions Binks should be replaced by Kitching. So currently from the list yiu have .added can only say for certain 2 of the players are of good enough quality.

I can get on board with VAR when perfectly good goal is going to be ruled out due to a bad decision, or vice versa - or if a side is denied a stonewall penalty or someone has blatantly dived
It's the nit picking and ruling someone offside by the length of a gnats chaff that annoys me, which is what we saw - If that goal had stood not one person in the world would have batted an eyelid
