CURBISHLY?

Looking for a way back, has been over looked at Wolves and some others. Very good record, knows the lower leagues, has the right demenour, respect and on instinct alone think he would succeed with us. Also don't beleive as of now would cost too much to begin with.

We need experience and perhaps the nearest thing you can get to choosing someone that will most likely not fail.
Put another way....how much more confidence in his ability would you have as opposed to Thorn?

Curbishley sounds like a good option but despite what you said about his wages, still hinges on what he'd want etc

Think he would jump at the opportunity to get back with a 'bigger' club and have the chance to prove he is still here and do so with bonus rewards for promotions etc. Why wouldn't he accept a smaller wage? I know I would given the same opportunity.

He would be my first port of call on Mr Fishers list. Most of the other 'names' in that list like Keane and co tend to bring the unknown and baggage with them, something we can't afford to take chances with.

DiCaneo went to Swindon, has earned massive respect and rebuilt his management value, Curbs can do the same at a bigger club, one that has the potential of going all the way to the prem with him!

Curbishley was the one who turned down Wolves in the end last season. I doubt that he would be available to us.

I'd say he'll be the next man to take over at the next top 10 club in the champ who sack their manager.

Ok so it has a 'e' as in Curbishley but so what?

Perhaps you would like to enlighten the rest of us why it's a piss take as you put it and add your own choice?

He could have his pick of Championship jobs. No chance.

I don't think so.
Out for a while now and how many Championship clubs would offer him the opportunity Coventry do? With us he gets a bigger club and potentially premiership without doubt. Little different if you were barnsley or co surely? The pressure at a championship club where the expectancy is the premiership would not be there while he concentrated on moulding a side in league 1 ready for the championship and beyond.
I think it's a real possibility. Football has changed a lot the last couple of years. No money outside the prem and once cast adrift too long you may not get back in at all. Plenty of so called good managers now down the leagues because they had to get back in.....Boothroyd a point in case.

But we have a reputation of killing respected managers reputations. Curbishley is in the position where he has to do well at his next job or he most probably is finished in top teir football. With our history of unsuccessful managers, and the plight the club is in, I don't think he'd look twice.

he's out of work. he touts himself as a good manager worthy of a job.....has to be confident of putting his money where his mouth is and doing nothing other than doing well surely? If not then I wouldn't employ him! He's a football manager....that's the job.
