Issues at the Club (2 Viewers)

I've been asked to come on here.

All info i will put is from a former player last year.

1) McDonald along with McSheffrey and 2 other players have a clause in the contract which means they still get appearance bonuses (They never agreed to the new 'scheme')

2) Richard Wood is on 12k a week, the club have tried to off load but no joy.

3) Two people lined up for the job refused when offered. I was Told Robins was one hence why he wasn't at the ground tonight but maybe negotiations are on-going.

4) Players are not a team, plenty unrest within the camp and different groups with own clicks.

All the above i have been told on good authority, will the truth ever come out, who knows but this is bad times and the trouble at the club are getting worse

I don't believe for one minute that a former player whould know anything about managers being offered the job and turning it down.

Sorry.

You will always get 'clicks' at every club, that was one of the issues mentioned about the Liverpool team before Rafa Benitez was appointed. That in my opinion is normal, as for the appearances and bonus's... again I'd say that the players don't have to agree to it and I don't blame them personally. Richard Wood would not be on 12k, no way! maybe 8-9k tops! You then have to look at him and think would he get anywhere near that anywhere else?? no, so again I don't blame him staying and earning what he can because after only being linked with teams like chesterfield, he won't ever be on that sort of money again. Managers wanting the job will want own staff, player targets, etc etc and I guess sisu will be saying, " this is what it is... get on with it" and some managers would rather say no and wait till a club comes along which suits them as we obviously don't. The Coventry City job will more than like break you as a manager, look at what happened to Adams, Dowie, Boothroyd.... however if you come in and get success then you would be a legend but I'm afraid losing and being unsuccessful is a trate that this club has had for a long long time and I don't see it changing sadly....

Sorry.

They would if they are close mates with current players ;)

I do agree that I doubt a player would know about the managers turning us down but the rest I find totally feasible. I've always thought Wood will be on a massive wage. I was amazed he came here in the first place, leaving his hometown club who he supported to basically join a club who were very similar at the time.

Wood might easily have had a 10-15% annual salary rise, which is why he's supposedly on more now then the 8-9k p/w deal he signed on.

Players talk, take for example Shaw not at training yesterday. Players will ask around. Not MI5 or section 20 is it.
I was just asking would players know who the job was being offered out too. If they are not told then it is just guess work an piecing things together from the players

You don't need to be a player to know Shaw was not at training yesterday as he said it on CWR

Leave you with this thought. If Robins has accepted the job, why wasn't he in the stands tonight?

Not like that, it's called having respect for someone who tells me info. I dont think the said person would want his name all over the net

About the players contracts,

Why should they accept a reduction?

If anyone here had just accepted a new contract for a job only to be asked to take a pay cut after signing I'd refuse too. These players agreed terms that they and the club were happy with. The club can't just say yes to what they want only to change their mind straight afterwards. Seems like dodge tactics by SISU to sucker people in to me. No wonder players aren't happy. I'd be pretty peed off too.

Is the former player David Bell. Certainly hasn't played a game for us for as long as I can remember.

Fair play LPC. I appreciate you passing on info you've been told.

Why do people need to know the name of the player? If LPC said "it was Turner" why would that make it any more valid info?!? Keep posting LPC!

Also Wood is worth 5k p/w at most

He is now! Or indeed not more than 3.55, seeing as that's our new wage limit. Talk about depreciation in value...It was no secret that we were trying to get rid in the Summer. The CT even used the words "the outgoing Richard Wood".
