By the league structure there’s 18 clubs who achieve nothingness or worse every year, few seasons in mid table isn’t the end of the world (if!) we can continue developing assets
Just hope Robins is given the time, essentially we are rebuilding a whole new team. Same as he's always done over the last 7 years but just with more money spent this time.I think it's reasonable to expect a transition period .. the expectation levels obviously high from last season, but there's signs that most of the signings can be developed into top players .. when people talk about signings being shit they're obviously talking about the strikers .. but even then there is an obvious level of development required and allowed

You see Jamie Allen’s importance way more when he doesn’t playThink we were lucky to have the team we had last season and how good they were. Was always going to be difficult to replace the big 2 departures and while we were never going to get like for like replacements, the big money signings so far have been very underwhelming.
I for one am certainly feeling very deflated about things at the moment and certainly don’t get the excitement of going to games like last season.
no disrespect to the guy, but it says everything about our transfer business/ state of play , when I’m looking forward to having Jamie Allen back in the team
Simms needs feedingMust admit we do seem to have a front line made up of the cowardly lion and the tin man at times
It wasn’t exactly the most straightforward of windows, was it?What issues is he facing?
This is exactly what I think too. It’s October and people are panicking, bit sad reallyLet's be honest
Usually when a team is wank and change is needed it's when they are dog shit , not creating and conceding loads .
We're creating , we're not conceding loads and we still have a positive GD
We could just as easily be 6th as 20th if we'd have taken chances .. we will get it right give them time
I don’t really know what’s best except it probably isn’t the current setup.I think we need to go back to the box.
Not at Middlesbrough. This reminds me of the League 2 season slightly. Mcnulty labelled a dud, struggling to even get into the playoff places, didn't know our best team. Lots can change over the course of the season, not saying we will end up getting promoted but it does take a while for a new look team to find itself.
I know I'm in the minority, but I've seen enough in the games I've watched to actually think we've played quite well(!)This is exactly what I think up. It’s October and people are panicking, bit sad really
You're right, they are certainties for promotion now. QPR were top this time last year. To judge how a team has formed after 13/14 games is silly.I don’t really know what’s best except it probably isn’t the current setup.
Not at Middlesbrough.
In most games we have played well in spells, the main issue is we don’t punish teams when we are well on top and then run out of steam and ideasI know I'm in the minority, but I've seen enough in the games I've watched to actually think we've played quite well(!)
Do teams all take the exact same time to get it right ?I don’t really know what’s best except it probably isn’t the current setup.
Not at Middlesbrough.
They have changed a considerable number of personnel but kept the same playing style. We have turned over a similar number but also dropped what worked for us last season in favour of a different style. You're right, they are certainties for promotion now. Have we really changed style that much? They have changed a considerable number of personnel but kept the same playing style. We have turned over a similar number but also dropped what worked for us last season in favour of a different style.
It’s trying to change too much at once.
This reminds me of the League 2 season slightly. Mcnulty labelled a dud, struggling to even get into the playoff places, didn't know our best team, just lost Jones to an ACL. Lots can change over the course of the season, not saying we will end up getting promoted but it does take a while for a new look team to find itself.
The manager thinks we have as does Godden.Have we really changed style that much?
I wouldnt necessarily say we have.

Exactly. Theres been many games where results have been marginal. The Huddersfield one is the big one, but the one at Leicester could have easily been a point.Maybe Robins feels like we have the players to impose ourselves on teams and win by dominating matches .. like i said we could just as easily be sat here 6th now , should have got results at Leicester , Bristol, Hull against Huddersfield.. that's about 7 points alone .
That's football , we will get it right
It’s just a counter example to the idea that large player turnover means it will take a long time to settle. With what we’re attempting even the old guard are having to learn a new approach.Do teams all take the exact same time to get it right ?
Surely you're less black and white than this
And confidence when we went behind to Rotherham, for sure.In most games we have played well in spells, the main issue is we don’t punish teams when we are well on top and then run out of steam and ideas

Interesting that MR agreed we looked tactically incoherent on Wednesday too.
tbf boot it to Gyokeres and let him take on the world wasn't an option anymore. We have turned over a similar number but also dropped what worked for us last season in favour of a different style.
If we find ourselves having lost 4 in a row after PNE we shall see.Yes he agreed .. I doubt he agrees with you that it's not working completely though
Losing 2 of the best players we've had for 20 years was not going to be easy to deal withtbf boot it to Gyokeres and let him take on the world wasn't an option anymore.
I'm amazed how Gyokeres still seems to be underappreciated by many. When he left it was all a bit meh, and then when his replacements aren't him, that should have been a clue.Losing 2 of the best players we've had for 20 years was not going to be easy to deal with
After the last few seasons we have had, a season where we fall back slightly was inevitable. Some resilience please
We have been spoilt in recent years and the odd bad season is inevitable. It doesn't mean we need to throw away everything we have been building
One or two good players don't define the club, its about the overall philosophy and the community we are still developing
And fine margins between unbridled optimism and absolute despair for quite a number of posters here.it's fine margins between success and failure.
