Call it a moment of clear headed ness after some discussions last night if you will following this weeks events.

Many individuals and groups are to blame for not resolving our clubs ongoing plight that started after Derek robins and shows no sign of improving

But ...........

Joy has no interest in the football club. She on behalf of her investors wants the Ricoh complex for little or no money and once she accepts that she cannot obtain this she will cease to fund the club and CCfc will be sold or be liquidated.

Our dear old historic club used in a worldwide business deal. Bloody great!

You need to break this news to Sandra Garlick and all the others on the stadium consultation, I think they have chosen the seat colours and the choice of pie fillings but are struggling on how big the scoreboard should be and at what end of the fanatasy fisher bowl.

To be fair the context was "without the prospect of being able to buy 50% of ACL they would have considered liquidating or not funding the club".

It kind of makes sense, why would any right minded investor or owner want to keep funding a loss making business to the tune of £5-7m per annum, when it has limited access to revenue.

I think this whole saga is anything BUT simple. We are locked between many a corporate and political battle and unfortunately cannot influence any of this.

There was also the bit where her advisor admitted on the stand she would pull the funding if she did not get the deal

But ACL's business is about a whole lot more than football. In the last year's at the Ricoh, ever less so. What devine right does Joy have to that income, when their main losses stem from poor footballing decisions, and contracts for the likes of Bell, Wood and McSheffrey?

A fair rent, yes. Access to some match day revenues, yes. But why half of ACL's whole business portfolio for a pittance?

We haven't yet seen their income without the £800,000 paid in the year of the rent strike or the Olympics.

If hiring out the actual stadium is now restricted to non league youth teams and under 21 sides then the stadium is worthless.

For a football fan to want a wage reduction so a high rent is paid is very odd. Try going on other forums and ask would you favour rent free or pay £1.3 million a year and see what answer you get.

Old iron lung and her predecessor have done nothing to assist the football club whatsoever.

Grendel you must stop attending the same charm school as SISU, the problems stem from long before Ann Lucas was appointed, CCFC was owned and corporately managed by a McGin a millionaire businessman and Robbo an experienced business and politician. If I remebere rightly in the early noughties CCC was often changing from labour to tory rule, initially the tories weren't going to back the Arena project. CCFC negotiated a very poor deal, from a position of weakness but however Robo & McGin thought the club would survive is beyond me. Whether ACL have been incompetent who is to know but SISU have had an opportunity to buy the shares and declined and then went for the distressed route and hence the mess we are in today.

SISU may play the white knight but were they the only party willing to buy the club with its onerous rent and no access to matchday revenues, would there have been other potential buyers if reduced rent etc.. was available. They bough CCFC with their eyes open and now complain, does that work in your business area ?.

You think the stadium is worthless,,, why build the station or invest in the rowleys club if the area has no hope or foot fall to sustain these facilities... You seem to relish the thought of an undeveloped area of our city to suit the Sisu v CCC stance you have.. Things don't point to a failing Ricoh to me,, but then again gren you seem to know more than any other man on the planet as well as argue with every fooker...

I don't want to debate with you to be honest but i don't think in life i have ever come across anyone i disagree with as much, 99% of what you post i find strange.. This is not a bad thing or makes me mad in fact it makes me laugh. I also promised i would never engage in this but as i'm leaving these shores soon, my time will be spent with more pressing things, so thought why not. Anyways look forward to the reply as i'm sure it will involve in depth knowledge about the post or misdirection regarding comparable wealth, education or grammar!!.

It's already been offered rent free and they turned it down.

Wasn't the last ACL accounts suggesting £1.1 million - something like £650,000 in wages then.

Also a let less then they perceive they will get after the JR which in sure is the main reason for not taking the offer.

I'm guessing that figure would be for all events, not just football. I was talking specifically from match days. Sorry, should have been clearer.

There are very few other events. Anyway your missing the point - the "deal" must surely have included dropping the JR and sisu clearly see this as their key strategy.

We all know the annual rent offered at the last point was either £150,000 or £100,000. You know, the one Mark Labo seems not to have been told about. Sisu declined or didn't even respond. Oooooh those nasty council people. What have they ever done for CCFC? Apart from bailing them out to the tune of a few million, nothing is it?

You can cast doubt over ACL's business model as much as you want. You were wrong about projections, and you're wrong now. However, try addressing the question as asked: whatever you think of ACL's business mix, what 'right' does SISU have to the non footballing fare?

I go past the Ricoh on a regular basis, it's always busy through the week, seems to have events on most the time, but some weekends do look quiet.

Funny how the posters who ive noticed to be very anti council are the one's that go on about the Ricoh the most.

The Ricoh is nothing to do with ccfc anymore, not with sisu in control anyway.

Well they won't own us forever and they're rapidly running out of options to make money so hopefully after the JR they'll clear off.
