Now this geezer never got a chance....excellent debut at Old Trafford
Phillipe clement
Correct, i merely questioned why the sudden change of heart by Robins and like many fans was searching for reasons.
The reaction of others on here was totally unjustified.
We all know as much as the next supporter, and that adds up to zilch!!
Robins will be cursing this board, was just about to get a nice little earner when the negotiations started:
Huddersfield Chairman(Looking up from his ipad):"Look here, read on that Skybluetalk that Cov are going bust almost immediately, so you'd be out of a job anyway, so you can take half the money that you were on at Cov. Better than nowt"
Robins: "feck".
Or he watched sky, read any of the national news papers.
Or did anything other than stick his head in an ostriches's quite place.
Realised cov are apparently in financial meltdown.
We are talking to Hinckley and Rushed and Diamonds didn't you know about borrowing their ground.
You may have missed it, it did hit thd headlines too much.
He may have thought crickey never thought we could nick that young manager doing well at a club like cov.
However with that sort if shut going who knows. May as well give home a call he may want out and they maybe paying him peanuts .....
a thread about us possibly going into liquidation decends into picture of people like Eion Jess?
Doncaster manager goes to wolves
Coventry manager goes to Huddersfield
Lets play a game if spot the difference.
Doncaster fans genuinely believed they could get Civentry's manager as a replacement for their manager.
Coventry averaging 11-12 thousand fans.
Peaking at 30k this season
With a little bit if history behind them.
Arguably the biggest club in league one.
Any ideas why, doncaster fans felt confident?
Because they are delusional
Living on fluffy clouds?
Because in the national media we are skint, hence unlikely to give our manager what he wants, be it his own wages or s transfer budget.
I know I don't really get that.
If we are not financially in the goats goolies
Then SISU need to get a grip and stop making the football world think we are.
Make Coventry look professional
We will attract better players and managers.
That rent crap makes us look like a joke.
Sort out a business deal.
Convince the world we are financially secure even if we are not.
The best trick the devil ever played .......
Doncaster appointed Brian Flynn. They pay less than us. Robins ultimately goes where the money is. If they paid more his "advisors" would tip him off and there he would go. Face up to it we have been had. Some on here think we can attract people like Nigel Adkins, no we can't.
Blackburn are a club constantly in the news regarding their finances so please enlighten me -- why did Appleton jump ship and go there?
Answer -- they pay him more!
Is Applying the best Blackburn can do and should be attracting.
If not please enlighten me.
In addition when was the last time you saw Blackburn in the press in an article suggesting they don't have a pot to piddle in and are nearly homeless?
You know it makes sense, SISU in an attempt to get half the Ricoh
Went in a amateur propaganda campaign.
That has enticed people to come after our manager.
Muppets.
for what it's worth,
in a conversation with a person at the club,
some 6 months ago,
i was told that JS would liquidate the club unless s*su got their way,
i worry for CCFC fans that there may be substance to this,
PUSB
No it makes you sound very naive and foolish
At least Hoffman & Elliot are still waiting in the wings for the right moment.
You pertain to have an understanding of marketing and business.
Yet you don't understand the concept that the more desperate a person sounds the more liberties the buyer or seller will take.
I think you do understand this concept but it flies in the face of your stance that SISU could not have contributed to this situation. So you choose to belittle the idea instead.
JS liquidating the club would damage SISU's rep as a hedge fund, who would want to invest in them again?
Check their accounts, noone wants to invest in them anyway. Their reputation is shot.
Unconfirmed rumours because they're in Kev Monks head and nowhere else.
To be fair mate, you've come up with a theory. Which you are entitled to do, but it's nothing more than that. It's Grendels and anyone else's perogitve to question it.
Me? I get what you are saying. But in the grand scheme of things I think you're talking utter bollocks.
Clubs wanted Robins because he was doing a good job. Not because of statements about our finances. A Championship club had the draw and the money to snap Robins up regardless.
Put this conspiracy in the moon landing file.
I know why they want him.
The point I am making is why do clubs smaller than Coventry think it is worth trying to snatch him from a bigger club.
going back to the original post of the winding up rumour.............. just how does ACL get any money from CCFC by winding it up ? Not saying it is not action ACL might take but it has to be the very very last resort for all sorts of reasons....... remember all the assets are charged to SISU or ARVO so there are no assets to claim, so what would be the benefit to ACL. If ACL take such action they wave goodbye to the debt they have, but also the football club.......... the Council, Charity & ACL do not want to wind up CCFC unless there absolutely is no other option.
Not an insolvency expert but perhaps there are still other options, other actions ACL can take ? What would get them money from any action to at least part settle their debt
or perhaps a deal can still be brokered that the "owner" sees fit to buy into. Just my opinion but the feeling I get is that there is only one thing stopping a deal and that is the "owner". The worrying part is that "owner" appears not to have any real affinity for the club.
SISU cant afford to write off £40m of their clients money it is said ........ we know this because ? - the only info we have is the SISU Capital accounts where they act as agents for some clients,......... do we have any info on the funds themselves, or ARVO?......... Is the £40m but a small percentage of a profitable much bigger pot? The "owner" might feel comfortable in taking it all the way to the end game and losing £40m knowing they have capped the debt and making far more profits elsewhere that the losses can save tax on. We can only guess
Yes it is all conjecture .......... and I put it out there for others to think about. What might seem obvious probably isnt when it comes to CCFC
just as an aside ........ anyone notice how JS seems now to be refered to as the "owner"........ thats a change, SISU always used to be the agents acting for the anonymous investors who were the owners :thinking about:
