For a bit of nostalgia, Coventry City v Wolverhamton Wanderers from January 1975. ITV4. Programme starts at 1800 hrs.

Just watched tonight's edition featuring Bryan King in goal for Millwall then in the studio afterwards
Footballers were very different in 1974............

That was a Willie Carr goal in a 2-1 win and a rare Larry Lloyd goal. If you would have said to me that he would go on to win the league and European cups at that point you would have been taken to the asylum.

Cheers mate. You've just spoiled the enjoyment of watching the game, giving the result away. Not everyone remembers the score so it would have been nice to watch with no idea of the result.

Was watching that QPR v Burnley. That tackle at the end on the QPR player. Burnley player nowhere near the ball, completely took the feet from underneath the QPR player. No penalty. I was pissing myself.

That was our once captain Gerry Francis earlier in his career , when he was in or around the England squad

Yeah, old man was telling me. About John Beck as well - said he didn’t think he was ever any good.

Yeah he was a disappointment really .
Seem to remember him as a midfielder , defensive I think .
Went on to manage Cambridge for a few years I think.

Barry Powell playing for Wolves. We bought him from them in September that year. Stayed with us until 1979. Local lad from Kenilworth. Good player in my eyes.
