What is his actual specialist position?
Think he came through as a central midfielder? Best game for us LWB against Watford and most games RWB. Presently the starting RWB! Bit of "Barry Quinn Syndrome" where you play in lots of positions but never nail down your specialist one. I do like him though, versatile players are rare.

Interesting what the plan is now (haven't watched the video yet) but another season of the bench isn't really what he needs now. A barnstorming loan campaign at league 1 or lower championship however, yes!

I thought he was supposedly out of the picture for good here? 😉

Said I rated him. Really pleased he has a contract extension.

No, I was talking about Jack.

It was when I suggested he might kick on this season.

It was a little poke in the ribs to NW, who said he needs to "be moved on for his own careers sake" 🤪

I am very much hoping he will end up a key part of the squad at some point this coming season, but maybe after an initial loan away somewhere, for more game time.

Would like to see him get the back up right wing back spot this season he's a strong unit and then hopefully make it his own the following season

You appear to have missed off the ...if he's not in the squad now... bit.

Well if he's signed a new contract, he clearly is in the squad now.

There would be no point in him signing a new contract if we ensure there are four wing backs ahead of him again, however.

He's very versatile though and can play a number of positions.

No, he wasn't in the squad at time (MR has a bit of a habit of doing that at times doesn't he), but I have always had faith in him

Great news. Would rather him as cover for WB positions than using a loan to do it. Good pace and I thought should’ve got a bit more game time this year. Reckon he could be a starter in next year or two if he carries on progression

I remember seeing a number of U21 games with him in, on YouTube highlights and he always looked head and shoulders above those around him.

He is quick and a very good passer of the ball.

Yeah but it's not going to be good for his career on the bench every week.
I assume that Eccles is the model here. Given he currently has zero competition for his favoured position then I imagine he’ll get a decent amount of playing time.

AGain, the quote you're citing is now when Bodwell ends up the only wing back left in the squad which patently obviously means... now

He can play all over the pitch but needs to nail one down to make it his and put his stamp on it in the next 2 years.

I do agree but whenever he’s played in the first team he’s always looked decent and able to make the grade. It’s a different situation to someone like Tavares who should have gone out on loan last season and will inevitably he released once his contract is up.

I do like his t-shirt
Clearly loves playing for the club.

This came up in the suggestions at the end of the video, not seen it before, not bad for a left back!
