Have to remember the player had 2 years left on his contract too

Relax. The player is not the one that demanded the fee. In any event it will be nowhere near that amount up front if ever.

£5m in 2024 is not the same as £5m in 1999.

Personally think the fee is fine , we wouldn't be buying players like Jack rudoni before , we'd be loaning them hoping they joined us once their contracts expired on a free

He ses like a player Robins really likes and has spoken positively about in the past.
Robins and Adi get him firing (I'm certain they will) and it will be another valuable asset to add to the list.

Us as supporters shouldn't concern ourselves with what the club spends , the people in charge aren't thick , and will be well aware of what they should be spending on certain players.. I also doubt they'd spend everything on 1 or 2 players , this means coventry city have money to spend

We should be supportive of this , it's new

Again, it’s a fairly hefty transfer fee but will be relatively low wages compared to the rest of the league. Seems more and more obvious that Doug is more than happy to fund transfer fees for players that he think are an asset and will be sold on for more. What he won’t do is spend big wages on players who won’t make the club money in the future

Which is sensible

Now LK and Fadz have gone, the oldest players in the squad are Bidwell, Godden, Wilson and Allen. Everyone else is young by comparison and 26 / 27 years old max

tbf, I wonder if there were Leeds fans saying the same when Risdale was spunking around.

Always wise to keep an eye on what's going on.
No i get that, we're quite at that point though are we. I think we have a lot of football manager wannabees trying to decide in their head how they'd spend X amount and if its not how they'd spend it they start going all weird.

Because he went straight to Hudds as a 20 year old from league 2. Very low wages at Hudds. Obviously an increase for him to come here but nothing massive compared to a lot of wages in this league
Why though? He's an established Championship player.

(I didn't say your second quote btw!)

Sorry I messed up the reply to that haha. Point is that he came straight from league 2 to Championship. Then at this point he either stays in league 2 or comes back to the championship. I doubt many clubs were going to spend 5m on him so he either accepts whatever we offer or he plays in league 1

Nice deduction there!

Would people agree that this signing seems like a second choice to Marko Stamenic who apparently turned us down? (assuming its true of course as CCFC havent confirmed anything yet)

no, they don't even play in the same role.

Why do our fans insist on going to social media, to slag a player off, and a good player at that when he hasn’t even kicked a ball for us yet? Ridiculous

Isn't one a CAM and one a CM? Wouldn't expect it to be 'either or' for those two.

No, he would have been signed regardless.
