What a load of shit. As if we could afford his wages? Wouldn't want him either.

Someone on the radio before the game yesterday was saying he heard he was gonna be training with us next week

If it's true, I can see the logic in having a look. Just don't think he'd ever be able to play a decent amount of games. He'd have to accept a wage that is probably lower than he'd ever consider in my eyes.

Bags of talent but can’t get fit. He would command a high wage too. No thanks

Cranie's not joining us but we're letting him train with the team. May be we're just helping another pro out while they look for a club.

Yes but Bournemouth have a shitload of money and loads players who will be on £30k plus pw, it's within reach for them, not us.

His star is not exactly on the rise is it? He'll get what he's offered or he doesn't sign. Simple.

(If there's any truth in it, and there probably isn't)

Yeah, the wages based on past appeal annoys me slightly. Think it was Peter Beardsley, when he signed for Hartlepool, said he really struggled to get a club because people assumed that being Peter Beardsley, he'd want a fortune whereas he just wanted to play!

That being said, we'd be barking mad to even entertain Wilshere, he wouldn't last half a dozen games.

could turn into another " Joe Cole " situation, leave someone out to fit him in the side like Mowbray did!!

Jack Wheelchair?? no thanks

Cannot see it being true but if sisu want to pay up for him then fine by me. I bet he would still be miles better than anyone else we have minus O’Hare. Just downside of him being injury prone, but then we would have howley, eccles, allen, shipley to compete.

I remember Beardsley saying that and I thought why didn't he contact clubs and say "Look I have made my money, for me it is just about playing now, so I wont be asking for a big wage."

We should have avoided Bright (unless he was an absolute give away). We a have a lengthening number in the bomb squad. And we want to take Wilshire - surely not.

On a pay per game basis would be the only way.

Aren't there only 3 players in the bomb squad? Jobello, Hilsner and Mason? Hardly lengthy

We took the chance on Matty James, who had played the same amount of football in the previous 18 months. I think we take the risk, basic salary with appearance bonuses is a win win for everyone. Nobody can doubt his quality.

its all pie in the sky anyway. Until the club mention he is there it is all irrelevant

James had been playing regularly at the point of signing and had, aside from recent years, had a fairly solid career injury wise.

Wilshere on the other hand has spent his entire career with injury problems, he just seems to be one of those players whose body is just not up to it. Such a shame as he really looked top class as a young player.

if he just wants to play and money isn't an issue, and we have financial cover in case of injury or its pay as you play then why would you say no?

him on the field playing little midfield triangles with hamer and o hare would very attractive football

that being said i think there is no truth in this whatsoever, but i said that about Joe Cole.

Am I the only one that sees no harm in having a look at him? I’m not saying sign him up or anything but if we have him here on trial and trains well then surely it would be a no brainier if he’s not asking for a huge wage
But where do you look it’s really first team or nothing and not really as sub. Of course if he was fine fitness wise affordable then why not but to have him like we had with Joe Cole play one game then miss a couple is no good

He’s got more talent than anyone in our squad. Unfortunately he’s made of glass

But we all want shot of Allen and Shippers and Pask has been told he should look elsewhere. Do we really want DaCosta

We’ve got maybe 16 players when everyone’s fit who is of the right quality. Arguably even fewer than that. Outside the first XI who is there? Godden and Kelly possibly, Bright if he can sort himself out, Jones maybe, Hyam and Waghorn probably. Then it’s kids and L1 players if we’re honest.

I like Allen. I think he still has something to offer. He started last season in the team and looked off the pace. Since then, in the bits and pieces of games that he has played I think he has done okay.I think some people are too quick to write off players.
