Has just said on twitter that he's fit. Didn't we give him a nice long new contract? why hasn't he been involved?

I would propose that if he is fit and hasnt been involved its because hes shit

I don't agree with you, SBM. We need senior players to pull their weight, and McPake always gives 100%. He sets an example to others, and could easily be a leader on the field, given the chance of an extended run.

I dont agree that he's shit, but he was awful in his last game. He spends far too much time in the treatment room and did not deserve his contract renewal. But we all know that we need to tie our least deserving players down on longer deals so they are not poached by other clubs (thats the sisu way after all  )

How can anyone say he's shit?

Ok he had a bad game last time out but I can never understand anyone who says he is shit. He is one of our best players.

all the cov players seem too happy on twitter

maybe they should pick 11 fans to play on saturday, put up more of a fight

McPake isn't shit, he is just looking like David McNamee Mark 2. And I don't think it is down to his face not fitting, just his face not being seen on the training pitch nearly enough. Thorn would have scouted him and had some input on the 4 year contract he was recently given. When he was fit and starting, I liked him a lot. To use a cliche, he was a defender's defender... would throw himself onto a boot to stop a shot, strong in the tackle, not a let down in the air, decent pace. At one stage, he shared a really good CB partnership with Wood although this was initially broken up by Boothroyd and never re-discovered. We are bottom of the League and (often) playing a kid in need of a break at right back and a near kid with some patchy form at times at left back. McPake in and Keogh to right back when all are fighting fit would not fill me with trepidation... we need all hands on deck and I hope he forces himself into the reckoning

If a player is injured for 3/4 of the games he should be available for then you have to cut your losses and get rid.

Didn't James McPake try to play on with a broken back???
Have all of his injuries not come whilst playing or training as a city player???
Some people bleat on about some of these guys who play for the city as being shit and fair enough there are a few who do fit into that bracket but McPake is an honest player who I think that the majority of city fans appreciate for his commitment to the cause.
It's not his fault he is injured ffs wouldn't we all like to think that we would play like him if we wore the shirt??

Deegs is fit what happened to him......had one storming game and a goal then a bad game followed by lost in space? WTF?

It was more like 3 terrible games, tbf.

As far as McPake is concerned-he was my favourite player when he was fit, but that was about 2 years ago now. Based on what I've seen of him this season, he is now effectively an ex-footballer. I think he'd struggle in The Masters.

Whatever position he's in, he's probably a good 6-7 matches away from being up to Championship pace. His last showing was rather embarrassing and poor Cameron was having to cover his man as well as his own.

I suppose with us losing every game anyhow we may as well get him in and see if he can get back to something like his previous prowess-which was, IMO, exactly the kind of rough, tough aggressive CB we are crying out for. Cameron is still a long way off being that yet, although the promise is there.
