Allen has proved to be a decent squad player this season. Last summer I was saying get rid as he’s not good enough, he’s proved a lot of us wrong.
He’s never looked out of place against midfielders with far bigger reputations and wages

Allen has done ok this season but I would say he is an obvious player we should be looking to improve on. He gives lots of energy but his goal scoring/assist record is poor, his passing is tidy rather than spectacular. A squad player rather than a starter for me.

I think he'd be fine as backup - make 10 or so starts in a season and come off the bench in other games. He's just not the level you need to be making 25/30 starts has he has done this season.

But that's fine, you can't build a championship squad overnight. Get rid of Shipley/Kelly in the summer and have Allen fill their role as a backup.

I don’t think he’s good enough to be a regular starter unfortunately. Slows the play down too often and tends to take the easy option. Would still keep him as a bench player for next season however.

Thought he was awful last season, but really stepped up this campaign. Scored a great goal against Reading and his performances at Blackpool and home to Cardiff were brilliant. Perfect as a squad player next season, but we need another No 10 to go alongside O'Hare. Sheaf & Hamer as first choice centre midfielders, with Kelly, Eccles & Allen as back-up.
