And we’ve been able to invest in improving contracts and added a long term championship standard wing back
Yes, we're not dead yet - win our games in hand and we are back in the play off spots.Must be the only team in the league who's written off the season in January
Do we know any of those??
And we’ve been able to invest in improving contracts and added a long term championship standard wing back
You reported from the Supporters Forum in September that "currently the increased income is filling the increased expenditure from various unforeseen activity", such as the club shop (which went 100% over budget!) and goal-line technology. Are you now saying it also paid for Jake Bidwell too?
How do you know? The extended contracts have minimal impact on this seasons finances. It’s a real bad argument And the one Ken Dulieu used
Very trueWell if the owners would put the club up for sale at a sensible price we might find out.
I reckon Bidwell's wage as an established championship player will have wiped out all or most of any savings made on departures as we are more than likely contributing to many of their wages and have spent on mutual termination of Jobello's contract. So we’ve got crowds surpassing what was initially budgeted. Record season ticket sales. Moved 7(?) off the wage bill, with Portsmouth taking on the lion’s share of Walker’s wage as one of the top earners. Yet all we could muster was Bidwell? Maybe they’re extending the fence all the way to Keresley.

Don’t think I have a singular answer and I certainly think there is a limit to the success that the current owners can facilitate. And what sources will provide similar returns as player sales?
Enlighten us.

Our income sources that we’ve increased would be
Merchandise
Season tickets
Attendances
I think you make a good point that we have to sell to reinvest and compete higher up regularly and I’m interested to see what the solution is
I understand frustration on here is around the main solution is promotion and the riches the premier league offers and we have a chance to get in the play offs year and should take the opportunity. I agree
LolHow will it increase year on year Pete? Attendances are unlikely to increase, nor is commercial revenue. So again I ask please enlighten me on how the budget will increase without further investment from SISU which is only likely to damage the club??
No I'm not you've plucked that out of thin air as you have with your other ridiculous points.
I don’t think I’m being lied to but it’s a fair point to think that boddy is lying to the supporters forumYou reported from the Supporters Forum in September that "currently the increased income is filling the increased expenditure from various unforeseen activity", such as the club shop (which went 100% over budget!) and goal-line technology. Lol
Ridiculous points = opinions different from one’s own
It has increased year on year that’s a fact
You have answered your own questions by asking me one.
We need either:
Different owners that don’t mind investing money without return - we all agree on that
Same owners but accept that our best players will be sold to cover losses and some will be reinvested into new players to repeat the cycle
Same owners and stand still by increasing wages of experienced best players and support them with good young players
It’s a complex and difficult task to find money from nowhere
I don’t think I’m being lied to but it’s a fair point to think that boddy is lying to the supporters forum
Pretty sure the increase in budget has been possible due to higher than expected season ticket and ticket sales
I think everyone agrees with that we will potentially be at an impasse In the summer and as stars of the league 1 and first season in the championship come to the last year of their contractsWith respect Pete, there is no answer.
We have a threadbare commercial team who do little to generate further income, (understandably that is largely down to them being understaffed so I won't be a dick about that), ticketing/ST sales are unlikely to increase significantly and if anything are more likely to decrease and SISU simply aren't going to inject more cash into the club.
We're at an impasse and little is being done about it. No one is asking for a massive injection of cash we're asking for SISU to not cut Robins' legs from under him and make his job that much harder.
You are seeking to win an argument I am seeking to understand from fellow fans what they’re opinions are and whether there’s anything I can inform Boddy or others at the club with having been given a little voice to useYes but the point is moot and completely irrelevant to my question which was: is it going to continue year on year from hereon? The answer to that is very unlikely because of the reasons I've repeatedly mentioned.
This in turn will affect our ability to recruit and compete in the market, again for reasons I've mentioned and is completely unsustainable for keeping us in the Championship.
Yet your best response has been 'we'll have make more money from other sources'. And you wonder why I'm taking issue with what you're saying?

Would those disappointed in the window have preferred selling Ohare for a couple of players with potential?
I think Tim fisher is the go between between the club and joy. Fundamentally if you think Boddy wants the club to fail then ok but then it’s hard to have a conversationHe is just relaying Joy behind a friendly face
I think you are honest and you probably would but the vast majority would say lack of ambition if we dare sell anyone for anything below a completely unrealistic valuationYes. Especially as I’m not convinced either Hamer or O’Hare will turn a profit. But mostly because that’s the model.
You are seeking to win an argument I am seeking to understand from fellow fans what they’re opinions are and whether there’s anything I can inform Boddy or others at the club with having been given a little voice to use
You are seeking to undermine my every word and bring stuff in from months ago which seems a little bit strange and I’m sorry I was combative earlier on when I was pissed off.
Let’s talk about this stuff without assuming the worst when we disagree
Think that’s a great questionSame as it’s always been Pete: what’s the plan? Joy says we have Prem ambitions, Boddy/Robins say we’ve got no cash to put out a top half Championship club, current strategy is entirely reliant on a one in a million manager continuing to perform.
We are a Championship level club at minimum. What’s the owners plan for sustaining that? And if they don’t have one why on Earth don’t they sell?
I don’t often agree with you but I must admit I can’t fault your reasoning, however we also know that wishing and hoping is all we can do. They march to their own drum.Same as it’s always been Pete: what’s the plan? Extra £30k a game for security
Crap cup draw giving a loss
Wrong acquisitions?
How do you know?
Are we not paying his wages now??Well because it’s a contract deal that lasts for a few weeks before the end of tbe season

I’m clearly being thickIf you are seriously saying extend contracts means we are unable to sign new players I don’t know what to say to you. It’s laughable
If you have a wage budget for the season and you give a player a new contract on an extra 2-3k a week then that money will come from that wage budget, meaning you can't then use it to pay another player you're looking to sign.If you are seriously saying extend contracts means we are unable to sign new players I don’t know what to say to you. It’s laughable
Lol, you should spend more time playing Football Manager than you do researching serial killers. If you are seriously saying extend contracts means we are unable to sign new players I don’t know what to say to you. It’s laughable
Always everyone’s fault apart from the people in charge.
