Looks that way, is it Howley and Burroughs coming back, prob to keep squad numbers up, we’ve got sheaf, wright and EMC to come back, not much point bringing loans in, that would leave players your prob trying to sell not even in the squad,It is starting to feel like the goal for this window is to try to line up exits rather than prioritise incomings to put us in a better stead for the summer.
Beginning to think the same. There is some merit in getting rid of the dead wood first.
It might be the difference between Lampard playing the formation he sees us playing long term and playing one that he's going to rip up as soon as everyone's fit.
Depends on the loan. A player we have a shot of signing for next season is basically a try before you buy. That's a different situation to helping develop some Chelsea kid at the expense of our own players development knowing there's zero chance we'll see him past the end of the season. As a fan I want a loan in, as a pragmatist it’s probably a waste of cash.
Why would Doug do a U turn on loans in the middle of negotiating one. Doesn't make senseWas told today of a delay on the Rak Sakyi deal. And no one needs to believe me, dont need any 'heres your agenda'stuff, but again it's down to Doug being funny about loans.....
Outs wise, Hull and Blackburn want BTA but it will be for less than we paid, so it's probably not a goer. Tavares and Collins both have solid L1 interest. Collins will be harder to Shift however as he's sat on a nice contract for the next 18 months.
Lati deal still on
One time Doug is right about the loans, unless Rak Sakyi is going to help us get promoted in the next 6 months it's a waste of money. Was told today of a delay on the Rak Sakyi deal. And no one needs to believe me, dont need any 'heres your agenda'stuff, but again it's down to Doug being funny about loans.....

Agree with this. If Hull and Blackburn are seriously interested in BTA as they need him, playing hard ball til end of window may increase the bids. They will not want to continue til the summer if they have identified a real need now.Clubs are desperate in this window, there aren't many available decent options around and it's a sellers market.
There’s 3 strikers ahead of him already.
why on earth we signed him as a 4th choice striker I’ll never know
Tavares could have played that role and we could have signed a midfielder
genuinely baffling
it's clearly not true, they even tried to loan a midfielder for robins in the last windowIf the no loan rumour is true I don’t get why you’d hire Lampard. One of his biggest strengths in this division was the use of the loan market. Why take that off him doesn’t make sense
I do wonder if Bassette getting capped for Belgium has had an impact on our funds for this window.Cause Bassette was signed way later. I think BTA was signed as a 3rd choice. Then Bassette came on the market at an affordable price so they got him. Plus he was only 19 so didn’t know if he would be ready but they felt he was and then he leap frogged BTA.

I seem to remember Chris Cattlin made a big impact straight away. Didn't he mark George Best out of the game on his debut? Memory might be playing tricks of courseSeen too many players join and are pants only to end up as heroes. Chris Cattlin and Cyrille Regis are two that come to mind.
Gyokeres had already left, got a good dealIn all fairness we need to try to look at recouping fees paid for certain players to give us the best chance of going again in the summer window straight off the bat and the January window gives the club a unique opportunity to do that.
Gyokeres, MVE, Wright, Sheaf etc. won't be moved on straight away and deals could get dragged out come summer.
Clubs are desperate in this window, there aren't many available decent options around and it's a sellers market.
Each to their own and all that..but..fuck me what a mental take. Simms contributes loads, he is literally the only striker we have capable of holding up the ball currently. He brings other into play way more than he's given credit for.Thomas-Asante hasn’t really had a fair crack of the whip at CF. At this point I might be tempted to cash in but King doesn’t even remotely strike me as someone willing to sell a player for less than he bought him within 7-8 months. The key to it is Simms. He obviously has ability but if he’s not scoring he’s basically not contributing. To be frank I don’t think there’s much difference between our CF’s but actually BTA is the more rounded of the 3.
Premier league clubs can only have 2 loan players registered at a time There aren't too many spaces left and if doubt Chelsea would want to loan a player to anyone in the top half as they are direct rivals. We're not getting Guiu ffs, he's made first team apps for Chelsea and Barcelona, if they wanted to loan him out they'd easily have top flight clubs interested.
it was nonsense spouted online and they people twisted what Dean Austin said about loans being difficult due to a number of reasons as proof. In fact we will do loans if it works for us but rightly we prefer to own the players ourselvesThink I miss something not seen anywhere saying we not in for any loan players
that doesn't actually say that, it is talking about 2 players and is likely nonsenseIt would appear it is Chelsea delaying any loan deals for their players at the moment, basically in case they get better offers for them elsewhere What Chelsea have now told Frank Lampard after Coventry manager asks for ‘exceptional’ attacker on loan
Gyokeres had already left, got a good deal
Pretty gobsmacked given how poor we’ve been and aheaf wright and emc are out we’ve done nothing
Thomas-Asante hasn’t had a run of games either. Simms holds up play?? We must be watching different games. Normally if the ball is played into him it cannons back off him 30 feet. I agree he’s our best centre forward. But we seem keen to condemn BTA when you could reasonably apply all the excuses given for Simms to him as well. Each to their own and all that..but..fuck me what a mental take. Simms contributes loads, he is literally the only striker we have capable of holding up the ball currently. He brings other into play way more than he's given credit for.
He's been so badly managed this season. Everyone can see he's a confidence player yet he's been in and out the side. He needs a run, the goals will come but even now he offers loads in terms of strength and retaining the ball.
And allow them to go on loan until their contracts are finished.Beginning to think the same. There is some merit in getting rid of the dead wood first.

Not necessary true .From a business perspective the choice is to own the asset or pay to utilise it and then return it. He could easily have made the decision that owning the players and creating additional future value is the best way to go .DK can only see loans as dead money because someone has told him so. That will surely be Dean Austin plus he got burned with the Yassin Ayari experience. Logic should tell him that we got into the playoff final with multiple loans and surely contradicts what he thinks / has been told.
I saw a link somewhere about how FL has spoken to Chelsea about a couple of possible loans but Chelsea no for the moment. Two of those three expected back not that long after the transfer window closes, so you wouldn't really do anything about them. It is concerning if we do not do anything about central midfield as we are down to the bare bones.
Agree to a point but surely the real value for DK will be created by the team achieving promotion? I get not over extending on loans, but a couple of astute loans to help create a winning team, preforming well, will in tern increase the value of the other players in the team. Not necessary true .From a business perspective the choice is to own the asset or pay to utilise it and then return it. He could easily have made the decision that owning the players and creating additional future value is the best way to go .
Was hoping Wright was sooner than that, feels like fucking forever. Two of those three expected back not that long after the transfer window closes, so you wouldn't really do anything about them. It is concerning if we do not do anything about central midfield as we are down to the bare bones.
