He was there best defender and was always getting rave reviews, watch him be brilliant at Preston now
No doubt he’ll do very well now I’ve said this but being the best defender in a team which is on course to concede a 100 goals doesn’t seem to be the highest praise.

IMO, he isn’t what we need right now and with the competition that’s the only time we would have been able to get him.

Maybe we could sell Kitching to Plymouth now?

You will only be happy if we sign nobody so your obsession with slagging off King and Austin can continue. You no doubt criticised the signing of McNally and Doyle as 'randomers on loan' yet we made the play off final
I’d only be happy if we signed nobody? I’m constantly saying we need to sign players, loan and perm. Edwards and Gibson (2 decent CB’s who’d easily get into our team) are now with teams around us. Unless Doug has a masterplan then we’re already weaker! Surely with our defence being as bad as it is we’d be acting already…oh and McNally and Doyle had experience at Sunderland and Oxford so that argument makes 0 sense

Can’t we wait until the windows over to see who we bring in? Edward’s we went for but lost out on due to player decision which can’t be helped. Plenty more fish in the sea

Yes we do and luckily there’s more than these two players

You can only judge a window after it has closed, not 3 days in.

Got to say listening to Lampard doesn’t sound like he’s getting much backing. Though again Robins always played it down too.

In the interview with CWR today, Frank Lampard was asked about the rumor regarding MVE, says he's not heard anything but then again I suppose he would say that.

Regarding Viktor Gyokeres, it's been reported that Ruben Amorim wants to sign Viktor after Marcus Rashford has turned down a new contract worth £650k a week.

He’d be mad to go to Man Utd.

You have no idea who these loan signings would be. You say my argument doesnt make sense yet yours involves criticising signings that havent been made! You moan at league 1 signings yet Edwards has barely played above that level and here you are crying that we havent signed him. Gibson also playing for the worst side in the division and hardly any experience at this level.

Because he is not in the initial loop of negotiations. Plus why would he disclose anything?

Stroppy panicking fans demanding they should know everything, opens the door for lazy journalistic bullshit

As for not being in the loop, surely the Manager has the initial say on who leaves and who comes in.

Or are we going to get conspiracy theorists saying, Doug King is selling players behind Frank Lampard's back.

In the loop doesn't mean fully in control. Not a conspiracy theory it is just the reality in the Championship and Premier League.

Not a conspiracy theory. Head coaches in elite set ups have a great deal of say in players or type of players they want to sign or leave. May even have a lot of input if they know the player personally or want a loan from a former club. What they don't have is the final say which is a combination of Director of Football (still waiting), the Recruitment Team Including the data crunchers and Performance Management. Maybe also the guy who negotiates the contract. Doubt if the Sleep Coach has much say, but you never know.

Kai Andrews potentially off on loan to Motherwell:

From Daily Record Scottish transfer live.

Motherwell are looking to seal a deal for Coventry City midfielder Kai Andrews.

The Steelmen want to sign the Welsh under-19 cap on-loan for the second half of the season. Lennon Miller is expected to be out for a couple of months and manager Stuart Kettlewell has admitted that has had to rethink his January window plans.

Andrews has already made two senior league appearances for the Sky Blues and is highly-rated. Coventry manager Frank Lampard feels it would be beneficial to go out and get more first-team exposure and game time in the short-term than remain on the fringes.

Lampard has also been impressed with the way Kettlewell and Motherwell have given their young stars like Miller and Ewan Wilson a platform in recent seasons. Andrews has come through the Coventry academy and signed his first professional contract last year.

Motherwell are 6th in the SPL. Surely if he goes and gets some minutes it will be good for him and makes you wonder why he never really got a few minutes for us.
