It's probably a bit of both to be honest. In terms of I suspect Lampard and his staff have probably had some tough conversations with certain players over the past weeks and has identified those which either aren't good enough or just aren't the right fit to move on.

But also there will inevitably be players which just want to find new clubs as expectations haven't been met, which to be fair is their prerogative.

It won't be a case of everyone jumping ship to save themselves. As poor as this season is, we're not in that bad of a situation.

Absolutely agree, some of this is coming from our side. Sounds like we're absolute pulling the defence apart. Maybe Lampard isn't as daft as some seem to think...

Overview of a Prick

Prick is a vulgar word for penis as well as a pejorative term used to refer to a despicable or contemptible individual. It is generally considered offensive, though in the past it has been used as a term of endearment.

Tbf to Kitching, he’s made one start under Lampard and only 7 all season.

Blackburn are seeing if he’s available for loan as he is seemingly surplus to requirements based on game time.

It doesn't take a footballing genius to realise the defence is absolute shite tbf

Brave call to do it in January though, if that is what we're doing. If Lati and Kitching both go then we'll need to sign 3 defenders (2xCB, 1xRB).

He did alright against Norwich to be fair, maybe his game time will increase from now.

Only downside of flogging Binks, Lati and/or Kitch is the standard of the replacements. They've all proven to be below average Champ defenders

It's clearly not lack of ability or lack of potential that keeps Kitchen out of the side. Unless he's burnt his boats with management I would prefer to see him in the team

yes - like most fans, we want signings, but having 'berated' 90% of our squad, we get twitchy at the thought of those same players leaving (albeit less so if we know we get appropriate replacements). FL strikes me as an intelligent man, and you would hope that he will stand his ground in terms of demanding the balance of movement is correct.

I don't really get why people are panicking when this is genuinely what most of us wanted and identified as a priority.

We need to revamp the defence as it's nowhere near good enough and hasn't really improved under Lampard.

That being said it's crucial we get it right this time and bring in players that are good enough and are the right fit.

Lampard needs this window and next window get us in the best position for 25/26.

If we get decent offers for players who Frank doesn’t want to keep then we ship them and he gets who he wants.

Its a defence we seemed very happy to go into the season with, we even went out of our way sign Binks up on a permanent.

Seems like Thomas is the only CB he doesn't want to bin off at this point, rightly so too!

Edit: Yes sorry i agree, this won't all happen in Jan, can't see it at all.

at least we‘ll know at the end of this window who is actually signing players, there’s no way lampards scraping round league 1 sides , first signings going to be very telling , no pressure

Blame the owner is all you ever say. Please tell us where the Sovereign state or billionaire owners are that are queuing around the block to buy us. We are in the best financial position we have been in years but that's not good enough, Chelsea over the last 3 years have spent 1.34 Billion pounds on transfers and it still isn't right. Guess what, being rich doesn't mean it buys success on the pitch. DK will come good, its an industry he is still earning about and he has been naive in some aspects. Even better, you can put a consortium of like minded investors together and buy him out! Melt.

Robins warned of this early in the season didn’t he? Saying he only wanted players here who are committed to the project and not seeing us as a stepping stone.

The cup run and performances should have been a massive springboard for this season - the loss of O’hare and palmer surely haven’t had that massive an impact as they seem to.

If Wright's comments at his Tavern appearance shortly after signing are any indication, the players signed summer 2023 onwards have all been pitched on "sign with us for four years, and we'll either get promoted to the premier league in that time or develop you into a better player who will get a good move". It's easy for me to imagine that they may be feeling like the former isn't happening, so they want the latter.

This is obviously conjecture, but I felt at the time and still do that Wright's comments were pretty illuminating.

If the Rob Holding rumours have any depth then we might be selling a couple to afford to bring him on board.

That's because as I stated the other day, loads of them want out and are getting their agents working overtime

We have a bunch of pricks as a squad at the moment but to say that means you're a shit fan on here

Is there a particular reason why many want out? Management style, team morale etc? Or do they just think they can do better elsewhere?

Not really, (though the relegation bit is OTT).

When you're short in a certain area losing a player hurts and puts pressure on the others that play there, even if the missing player is out of form/shite.

I’m expecting us to bring in one CM this month at least, so we’ll be in the same position as previous. Not ideal but not a disaster.

You'd think he'd look to recoup the majority of what was initially paid.

Blackburn got Hyam for a steal couple of years ago. Arguably our best (owned) centre back since our return to the championship along with Fadz.

Arguably had better centre backs a few years ago. Been an absolute joke the fees spent in recent years.

Hyams been playing consistantly top 6/8 level championship since hes been sold.

I think half the Championship will be thinking the same thing, depending on which end of the table they're sitting.

Ultimately, this recruitment team doesn't deserve a second chance and I'm approaching this window with a huge amount of scepticism but as others have mentioned Lampard isn't stupid and we're at least in a position now where we know exactly what we need and where we need it.

Whereas before Austin was just playing FIFA career mode bringing in anyone who sounded good or would earn the club shop the most through printed letters on the back of shirts.

Id imagine most want out cos they were sold a stable club, a proven coaching setup that’s got a history of getting players to a higher level, and a shot at the Prem.

That’s basically the sales pitch to younger players for any championship club.
