With a new manager incoming and likely to have some funds, where do we think is a priority for some reinforcements?

For me it’s the defence with a CB and LB being urgent.

If possible then a creative midfielder. Gus showed what he can do yesterday as a reminder. We need to find another Gus we can develop.

Finding another Gus for the money we will have is near impossible. He was playing right wing back when we found him - bit of luck involved.

Said it on another thread but centre back is a priority. Someone who reads the game.

My point was one we can develop like we did with Gus.

We need a CH a LWB, cover for MvE and a CM.
Hopefully FL can use his contacts to plug those holes, and maybe persuade Doug to use the loan market.

We can also off load Collins. Dasilva and Allen to ballance the books. (If there's any takers)

Think we need a Lwb especially if Bidwell is to leave which I think is likely.

A RWB back up to help us out.

On the Cm hard to tell atm but think we need at least a back up and future plan for Sheaf. Think the rest is fine (Torp/Rudoni, Eccles/Allen).

To this end he’s my targets assuming it’s Lampard.

Loan to buy - Harvey Vale (21) Chelsea. Attacking left back who did well last year at Bristol Rovers. Young age but think he could step up for us and think Chelsea wouldn’t mind letting go.

Proper attacking wingback with good pace.

Loan - Josh Acheampong (18) Chelsea. Again looking to use Chelsea connections but think this is a likely one, again a decent attacking wingback but very raw. Think he would be a good understudy for Milan and could drop in for 10-15 when Milan is knacked.

Purchase - Ethan Erhahon (23) Lincoln. This is one would be quite unlikely in January however Ethan is one of the best defence midfielders in league one. Still at an age to develop and done with the idea he could both compliment Sheaf if we wanted to play him advanced or eventually replace sheaf as the holding midfielder in the future as expect him to leave next summer.

I've moved to wanting an experienced CB more than the CM, though I think that's still a requirement, We're conceding far too many goals.

I'd like another RB/RWB as we're relyig on MvE playing every game and I think it's affecting his performance. Worst case scenario is Dabo, where he had to play even when injured as we had no other choice and it wrecked his career.

LB/LWB we could probably get by until the summer with the two options we've got, unless someone excellent is available.

A CAM is needed in my opinion, really like Rudy but think he’s better suited players deeper next to Sheaf and having somebody more creative in front of him. If we stick to a back 5, RCB is essential, as well as cover for Milan

CB to organise and direct the back line is critical to be honest. The mistakes we're making are so rudimentary and a lot of it has to do with a complete lack of anticipation and us breaking from our shape too easily. Very little communication between any of them and no one being vocal doesn't help in that regard either.

Then a LWB, RWB to support MVE and a creative/attacking midfielder.

Where does the club get the money to bring in these players ? Doubt it there is much money left to bring in that no of players.

I’m sure we will see 2 or 3 incoming players come January with at least 1 or 2 being more experienced

Sure this all depends on the system the new manager wants to play. If we're going to play 4 at the back, we aren't going to bring in a 5th centre back.

And without offloading one of Bidwell or Dasilva we aren't going to bring in another left back /left wing back.

I think we'd leave most of our business to the summer, but IF we had potential signings lined up and we need the money I could definitely see us selling Sheaf.

Isn’t bidwell out of contract at the end of the year, could bring in someone to replace him.

He could play RWB, but he was mostly playing CM. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, we have more resources than before.

My priority is a CM, there’s just a different profile of player needed in our team and without disrespecting Eccles or Sheaf, Hamer showed us yesterday what we’re missing.

It's just a wishlist of what we need as it's where the gaps are. But yes, budget is probably limited.

That said, to caveat the above, FL wouldn't be coming in if he didn't have a reasonable budget to spend.

Failing that, there is the loan market to tap into though.

He is, but you'd do that in the summer, January transfers are always over inflated, and you don't want to have 3 senior first team left backs / left wing backs on the pay roll for 6 months, especially as Bidwell and Dasilva will be on good wages.

If there's interest I'd imagine a club would just take over his (Bidwell's) contract.

Antoni Kozubal at Lech Poznan looks very good. Still only 20.

We need a big experienced CB as well at a bare minimum, upgrade LB/LWB and a long term replacement for MVE would be ideal.

Wonder tho if we could loan someone with a view of bringing them in January

You've got the same issue, you'll pay a % of their wages plus a loan fee and surely if it's with the view to a transfer you'd have to play them meaning 3 senior left backs/wingbacks. For me you'd have to offload one of them if you're going to do that. It's just a waste of limited resources to have 3 of them.

If we are looking for another cb where does that leave the £5m one we have sitting on the bench ?
cant see Dk being happy with that

I think Thomas kitchhing and binks are all very good players and young enough to iron out issues

Wouldn't be opposed to old head coming in but it's not imperative for me

I personally think a McFadzean type would do them the world of good in developing, so I think it makes a decent CB essential if we want them to push on.

We have to invest in a complete overhaul of the defence. RB is probably ok. I imagine we’ll get rid of Simms if we can. I’d re-invest in two CH’s and a left back.
