You think defence is okay?

Agree on the CM, but I think we need 2 decent players at CB and CM.
Recruitment for Jan needs to pick up where we left off in the summer. We were looking for a CM and experienced CB.

Defensively, an experienced head would hopefully support the young core so we cut out a lot of our soft goals.

I’d like to add a RB and LB but reckon that’s a job for the summer unless deals become available.

It’ll be Wilson that’s let go in the summer rather than Collins.

Purely because he clearly isn't fitting into our system this year
We don’t know what system we will play yet, and Robins didn’t have a settled system.

I think a front 2 of Simms and Wright would be one of the most fordmidable championship strikeforces…..

We need to play to our strengths.

LB who can attack and defend and isn't 4ft 3.

We are a Sheaf injury a ay from disaster so I'd get some cover in, a quality youngster who we can develop probably.

Then I think a central defender would be my next pick. Would love someone like Doyle but also not against the idea of a classy veteran the others can learn off

Sell or loan out - Dasilva, Kitching, Allen, Tavares, Simms, Collins
Buy/loan in - experienced CB, LB, Young RB, DCM, playmaker

So 6 out 5 in
So Basset has one good game and we now want to get rid of last seasons joint top goal scorer. Seriously some on here change more directions than the wind

Not going to happen given what we've already spent and I worry about anyone who can't see the potential of Bobby Thomas.
Thomas is dreadfully naive positionally, as is Binks. Dasilva even worse. Lati is technically our best defender. As a unit it’s terrible. But don’t take my word for it, simply look the goals we’ve conceded and the way we concede them.

Well our defence leaks goals for fun so improvements there especially lb/lwb, Da Silva is really not good enough, he has cost us a few goals when he has played, not trying to slaughter the guy here just saying what I and others see, a solid centre back would be nice but unless we ship Kitching out I can't see that happening. 100% desperate we need a centre midfielder to protect the defence and hopefully pass the ball forward a little quicker to our strikers and you can't have too many goalkeepers

Bloody hell forgot Allen was still here get him gone and Tavares too, total waste of budget for them now although Allen is obviously still injured

I was in the boat of thinking that a CM is the most important are, however it’s got to be at least 1 Top commanding CB first

Simms won't be going anywhere. Hopefully the new man can consistently unlock the best of him.

I would be looking to freshen it up a bit as I would think there will be a lot in and out in the summer.

I still think we are overstocked with keepers and if there is anyway to get Dasilva out of the club we should do that as would be offering Bidwell another year.

Expecting Vik to move generating about 4-6m extra for us to potentially spend

In :
LWB - Harvey Vale (Loan to buy)
CB - Rob Holding (1m)
RWB - Josh Acheampong (loan)
Or - Ethan Laird (2m)
Or - Emil Krafth (500k)
CM - Alex Mowatt (4m)

Out :
Jake Bidwell (100k)
Fabio Tavares (100k)
Ben Wilson (loan)
Kai Andrews (loan)

This is just ideal transfers in my opinion, Laird and Krafth are very solid defensively RB/RWB. Looking at Laird’s underlying data he’s very strong defensively for a League 1 defender let alone his position. Krafth has got plenty of experience and could fill the void of Bidwells experience.
Mowatt is the perfect fit for what we need in CM in my opinion we must go all out for him.
Holding is seeing few appearances for Crystal Palace and is an experienced CB who has played at the top level could be fantasy land due to wages but if it could be pulled off I’d 100% love to see him come in.
Harvey Vale could be the perfect foil on the left hand side to MvE and even if we go to a back 4 he can play LW or as a 10.

LB massive priority.
But as stated above, with a contract to 2027 think we're stuck with Dasilva.
Without a big CB reshuffle Carr didn't really have any option but to play him yesterday.

No way are we paying £4m for a player who turns 30 this season.

He’s a top top player for this division, his MV is 3.5m and he plays for a fellow Championship club and contract until 2028. Only way we’re getting him is a little more than MV, he’s 29 now so still has a good 4/5 years in him depending how his body holds up
