Hopefully some signing from Chelsea will be made.

I would like to see no loans. No prospects. We need a vastly experienced centre half and a grizzled championship midfielder. If we can offload a couple I’d then try and get a right back.

The CB is going to be someone from a higher division who isn’t getting game time really. Anyone that fits the bill we might go after?

Unless both parent clubs of those two are willing to cover 75% of their wages I think those suggestions can be filed under not a chance.
Same thing I said tbf, but struggling to find many centrebacks who have both the experience and quality who we didn’t miss out on in August.

Would like Ronnie Edward’s on loan but think he doesn’t quite match the experience bill we’d want (unless he’s a lot more mature through his experiences with posh and England youth teams).

Thought to mention just seen Han Moah Massengo suggested from Burnley on Loan. Seems to be a creative 10 which could benefit us and hasn’t had much game time this year.

January is a turgid window to do business in. You often have to over pay for permanent transfers and for the demographic of loan we're looking at, most parent clubs will probably be wanting a sizeable chunk of the player's wages covered. Otherwise they may as well just keep them until the summer for cover.

I just can't see King sanctioning that in all honesty. So I suspect the type of player we'll be looking at is the likes of those already mentioned. E.g. Edwards and Woolfenden or Omobamidele at Forest.

To be fair I’d be happy when anyone of the three you’ve mentioned

One player i'd be keen on who doesn't seem to be playing at all is Ben Mee.

Again wages would more than likely be an issue and his legs probably aren't what they were but he'd be exactly the sort of player from a leadership perspective we'd want.

He is 35 and has played 18 league games since the 2022 season.

It's a 6 month loan we're not giving him a 5 year deal Earlsdon and assuming his legs are still there far more realistic than Conor Coady who's on £75k pw.

Besides, unlikely we won't be looking at a PL fringe players anyway. We're far more likely to go for those previously mentioned.

Conor Coady is on £75k a week and the general view is that he struggles in a 4 man defence, but is a great talker in a back 3.

Not for me.

Right now I’d happily pay £75k/wk for someone to spend 90 mins “warming up” and organising the defence like Fadz does for Blackburn.

Rob Holding is 29 and can play in a 4 back out of favour at Palace experience at the highest level and market value of 1m but would need just a slight paycut of at least 20k from his 45k a year. Seems too good of a deal to be true

He won't be on that at all. I'd advise you don't take what you read on Google as fact.

He's been playing in the Prem since 2014, he was captain at Burnley before signing on a Bosman for Brentford where he'll be amongst their higher earners. Although he's not been at massive clubs, there is still a lower limit to what he would feasibly be on. I'd assume he would be in the 45k to 55k bracket which for the profile of player isn't unreasonable. Still way above what we would pay in the Championship.

Rob Holding’s been mentioned on here. Conor Cody as well.

No chance of Conor but he would have been fantastic. Exactly what we need.

1 x experienced CB
1 x leading box to box CM
1 x LB

Watching the Everton game last night and seeing Tarkowski lead their line was exactly what we are missing. How he organised and explained to the other players. Could you stretch to 100k/pw?

He signed a new one year deal last summer with all parties seemingly being in agreement that he'd be behind Pinnock, Collins and Ajer in the pecking order.

Brentford also have one of the lowest wage bills in the PL. They're not putting a 35 yo 4th choice CB on £55k per week.

So once again, I can guarantee you he's not.
