hamer was so good at progressing it quickly and honestly just taking a calculated risk. Torps the only one who might actually have the capability to do that but they’re all so risk averse they just piss about with it sideways and backwards until one of them falls asleep in the ball and gifts it to the opposition

Am I the only one that doesn’t see it with Torp? Just not even on the same planet as Hamer in terms of passing or anything else. Seems to have an OK shot on him and take a decent corner, but in game I can’t remember one thing he’s done where I’ve been impressed.

Nothing like as good or dynamic as Hamer (which is fair enough), but good on the ball, quick of thought, and is able to move the ball quickly and decisively with clever progressive passes.

If you compare every midfielder to Hamer, you’ll always be waiting. Gus is gravy and I was shocked he is playing in the championship this year

Do you want to borrow my glasses. Torp is technically very good but needs to build up his strength and stamina to properly compete in this league. Will turn into a very good acquisition.

Possibly. Just doesn’t impose himself or do anything massively out of the ordinary for me. And surely if we did get Doug to relax his no midfielders rule he’s the first out of the team anyway?

It would be interesting to know his actual feelings on his move.

It's hard to say it's been good for his career. He should be an established Premier League player by now.
Was honestly shocked he didn’t go wolves. Lives locally still, and would of been a great player for the projection style of play they had going on.

I agree with this. Has ability and moves the ball quicker than anyone in the squad. Has a good shot and reasonable at a set piece. But lacks pace and stamina which limits him as a 6 or 8. Also a bit weak in the challenge.

But stamina and strength can be developed. I hoped he would be stronger and fitter this season than he is. But maybe his pre season was disrupted by injury?

Like Mason Clarke, I think we need to be patient with them and give them time to develop.

It will be interesting to see if any of the prem clubs come in for him in January. I could see a Wolves or Everton getting desperate and paying whatever SU ask for him to try and avoid relegation.

I definitely don't think he's as good as Hamer now or when Hamer got to us, but I do think he's our technically most capable midfielder he just needs to work on getting up to speed with the championship and realise he doesn't have as much time as he did in his last league. He also needs to be a bit more physical and bulk up a bit.

The rest is just confidence though - i'd love him to try some more audacious shit and defence splitting balls but i think he's shit scared. our fans don't help at the moment i don't think

His penalty against united (i think) was insane

He has his moments, has a good range of passing, definitely a player in there if you can get him going, but he just seems so slow in speed of thought, the game has already moved on before he knows what he wants to do.

I think the last part sums up Lati perfectly I have never seen a player who thinks so slowly when he has the ball and then normally makes the wrong decision but unjust passes it out of play.

Think that’s the problem this season , expected all the new lads to come straight in and hit the ground running,, maybe with all the hype coming from the club and players we just expected too much, season and a half now for some of these players and Clearly not at the level we need, wright, Bassette, MVE sakamoto good enough, that’s about it

Well that's quite a high bar to live up to.

One way I can see how he may have been considered as a replacement is in his passing. I think he can thread a decent pass for the strikers. Plus we know he can shoot.

I think he needs to improve his fitness and strength, but the biggest thing I reckon is believing in himself. I guess he also has the problem of not having a Vik up front to take some of the pressure off having to do everything.

If he sorts those out he could be a Hamer-lite, but never full-fat Hamer (unless he starts getting a penchant for Samoan Joe's as well).

Hamer did so much like Vik you almost need two or three players to replace him. If Rudoni could start driving through the middle a bit and Torp could start pinging a few quick passes and chipping in with long range goals we might get there I guess.

I just miss Gus so much. No one who gets me off my seat in this squad really. No one who picks the ball up and instantly gets you excited for what’s to come.

Rate the fact you’re playing the England international out of position for O’Hare.

Better on the right than O’Hare. Also that’s where I crowbarred him into my FUT so that’s where he plays.

When you do these team you’re always going to have to make compromises. We’ve both got Dovin in goal and he’s not even in our team now!

His technique is as good as Hamer but he just doesn't have that explosiveness which is what really sets Hamer apart

He’s got a great ability to manipulate the ball. That cross for EMC goal was a thing of beauty.

Frank will have some funds to play with I’m sure in Jan but some players will need to be shifted out at the same time.

Out:
Kitching
Allen
Tavares

We desperately need a crunchy defensive midfielder who is also a leader, sitting in front of the back four. But who would he replace in our best 1st IX?

Rudoni is a creative player with goals and assists; Lampard has clearly improved Torp already (good game yesterday, pen not withstanding); Sheaf is club captain.

Weirdly altho' Torp is the obvious choice I would say Sheaf

Sheaf needs replacing.

We have to shift him on by next summer so we can get some money from him. At the moment his value is going down and not up. We would have picked up peak transfer fee in the summer but his form has been dodgy this season and his contract is slowly running down.

Was thinking about the experienced CB, would we take Liam Lindsay from Preston. Out of contract in June and had an outstanding season last year. Can play on left and right and is a good age and probably affordable?

As another shout, looks to be Lewis O’Brian is getting a lot of attention in the championship. Would be a great fit if we could tempt him but a lot of other good championship teams in for him
